Midscreen ice grenade resets are a bill

I'll mash out of +30 I know no fear
I'm 100% sure that combo with 213 isn't backdashable, I only got it right once when recording AI and spent 15 minutes trying to backdash out of it. It's definitely not possible
Edit: got it again, here's a clip
It only works after a point blank freeze or if the globe reaches the corner

Yeah I confirmed that this actually works. It's just really hard for me to get it tight enough for some reason.

yeah, they should probably remove the guaranteed resets, this feels like cyrax all over again x-x
The reset involving 213 is the only one that's guaranteed. Everything else is still 100% fake far as I can tell. The crossup reset is definitely the most bunk. It baffles me how no one tested mashing backdash out of it because it's so easy to do.

Couldn't you just let yourself get hit by the 3 in 213 to get out of this?

Edit:

From what I can tell the answer is yes, you can also push block and then backdash but there's probably ways to stop that but if you let yourself get hit by the last 3 you will avoid the freeze.

Difficult =/= fake

I already labbed Raptors reset but I labbed it again to see if anything changed and it still jails. You can't backdash, you can't super to punish(??), and you can't escape by pushblocking early. It's legit, even more than 213 since it freezes on block and on hit.

Show me how it's done then :p
There's plenty of jailing corner resets out there, check out Red Raptor's youtube or my twitter: richmenudo.

By the way, I agree with the thread title. Even though Cold has jailing resets midscreen you can still escape with a well timed late pushblock right as the freeze triggers. So in my opinion, its better to just do your basic bnb and save trait for zoning or when you get them cornered. Only his corner resets are 100% inescapable.

Maybe this thread is dead, but I'll just go ahead and post this god-tier refreeze tech. It goes like

D1, d1, d1, d1, d1, d1, d1-trait charge

Beats backdash every time lulz

So something this powerful should be guaranteed?
Under certain conditions, yes. Charging trait, popping it, and dashing back for some chip and 8% from a projectile is one thing. It won't make that much headway after you've already been chipped or pressured, and even then, isn't guaranteed.

But a reset after you've managed to charge to level two and then land a vanilla grounded punish? I think so. At that point, you've outplayed your opponent in neutral flat out without gimmicks and the gimmick that follows is you get to reset them into big damage. Call me crazy, but I think that's what he deserves for having neutral tools that are only defensive and create no real threat in most matchups.

And again, the reset scenario exists on the notion that you land a grounded punish. He has great anti air options, but landing a f23 in neutral is no easy task. If you receive one, you deserve what comes next.
