It might just be that I'm from a different culture altogether, but I don't understand what being gay has to do with playing computer games. Sex life is literally not relevant imo. lol
I fuck women.
You fuck men.
Are you looking for a boyfriend through this forum or something?
idk

Hmm I'm not sure what difference being gay makes to anything in life other than who you find attractive.

There are a bunch of players I reckon, weird trait is that despite not being into women most gay players will exclusively play female characters, go figure. I'm looking at you inj1 Zatanna community.

I think these days the world has moved on, however and most people just view other people as, well, people.

I know you are probably joking, but the admins here are pretty strict. I'm talking from experience.
Joking or not gamers get a bad enough reputation for being homophobic. It's "joking" comments like this that caused gay people to think they were hated. Everyone believes they were never "that guy" but when you sat around calling your friends [ban incoming] you were making people feel like they are hated. And I'm not innocent in this either I did the same thing in Middle School. But we need to grow up and learn not to be assholes even on an internet fourm. It shouldn't be the mods who stop you from being an oppressive asshole but instead, it should be basic human decency that motivates you to treat everyone with respect. So fuck this guy and everyone like him.

"Joking or not." This isn't acceptable behavior given the history this community has with words like this. It is as harmful as it gets. People joking about the alt-right led to people with alt-right beliefs thinking they had a voice. Our community is one of the most accepting I've ever seen and jokes like this are steps away from tolerance.

Tolerance is bullshit.
It claims an angle from which the "tolerant" are whom have to tolerate others.
It presumes that those "tolerant" are in any position to do so.
People have the right to dislike anyone or anything but openly hating anyone is considered malicious while openly discriminating and hating groups of people is considered a hate crime.
On the same page most people don't go around waving their dicks in joy of their sexuality, so neither should others.

Acceptance is key to life.
It simply means that one knows and understands that we are all different and doesn't make a big deal out of it.
At the same time I don't quite get why sexuality is to be discussed on a gaming website. It's a very private matter.

That's the problem I have, we are not taking this very serious but someone else might. Return to my example of Middle School for context, I'm sure we can all think of a time in school someone used the word "[ban incoming]" or "gay" as a synonym for dumb. For us it wasn't serious but for someone it may be. It is about the interpretation not the intention.

I'll start where we might agree. I think op is a joke and this post is heavily problematic but I liked a post on page 2 that explained that better than I could. I don't think sexuality has to inherently be separate from a gaming website. But I do think this "role call" type of thread is a joke. I also think this comment "It presumes that those "tolerant" are in any position to do so." has a lot of potential but needs to be fleshed out.

I think a lot of what your describing is misguided or generalized. I think you may even be that "angry straight guy" if you want to draw the lines for that one I left the dots. Yes there is a different between hating individuals and hating a group. I think malicious (having or showing a desire to cause harm to someone) is far from the interpretation that most people get. But I also don't think you get to make comments about how the whole of society respond to every case in which one person hates another. Even when I write out your thought it sounds silly.

I don't know what you mean by "On the same page most people don't go around waving their dicks in joy of their sexuality, so neither should others." This seems like you went to Pride and saw a man in a speedo and got upset, why? Connect those dots homie.

Acceptance, tolerance whatever you want to call it I put it in simple terms, "don't be an asshole."

Apparently, I guess some people are getting sensitive over the fact that I created this topic. So let me be clear. I'm old-school, right. And I've always been the only gay guy amongst all my gaming friends, so I never had a gamer companion with the same orientation as me. Hell! Around my time, nobody really came out the closet! So I find it quite intriguing that there are way more LGBT that play video games now. Its frickin' awesome!

What does sexual orientation have to do with gaming? Nothing. But it has alot to do with connection and relating to different things that I cannot relate to breeders (straight if you will lol)

Relating to different issues that nobody can ever understand, like actually being called a [ban incoming] IN PERSON and NOT OVER THE DAMN INTERNET because you're gay, getting jumped for being gay, getting killed because you're gay, being discriminated against, being put out in the street by your own family because you're gay. Have all these things happened to me? No. But many of my friends have experienced unfortunate situations. And this is an everyday struggle that the gays go through constantly. So THAT connection is stronger when I see a fellow gaymer.

Now I really did not want to get into this further because I know you will not understand, and thats fine. But i said my serious piece, and now back to fun.

So....who else is gay as sh!t on here ?Question mark?

There is nothing misguided about calling out the term "tolerance" as bullshit. It's only as generalised as the premise.

I don't know which part of my post came off as angry, given the medium I think you're reading too deep into it.

I mean that if we are advocating equality and acceptance we should understand that not everybody cares to read about sexuality when we go to a gaming website, a bit like not everybody cares to read about gaming on a website built around sexuality, but just a little bit more so.

You could also just ignore the topic. I mean, there are different websites for you to go to.

I'm sorry I can't keep doing this with you. But this line...

"On the same page most people don't go around waving their dicks in joy of their sexuality, so neither should others."

is dripping with awful continuations.
