the issue with deadshot is that he's very easy to pickup and has very few (if any) bad mu's. he's a stress-free, low-effort counterpick. tekken master's brainiac was free to bdon's fate, but then tm picks deadshot (a character he's never even played in a tournament before) and wins that 7-3 mu.

i was hoping that would be the end of it, but what happened after that was honestly pretty terrible. one of the worst grand finals i've ever seen. i really didn't think deadshot was as big of a problem as this, but the writing is on the wall. he needs to be addressed.

Thanks man, You need to set @CrimsonShadow straight

Make a video challenge or song about him and supergirl
...y'know, i didn't have anything on my plate as far as the next strange thing I planned to do. Challenge accepted.

Yknow what this debate reminds me of? fucking MK9 Sonya.
When no one wanted to admit to how over the top good she was when the Mortys and Rius and Foxy were turning her into a fucking killing machine, but then she ended up being the most ridiculous armored tank of rushdown hell this side of a pair of double D's down the line anyway.

Also, I also am really lost as to what the exact point of this argument is.
Just because the top guys who were using her didn't get far, that means she isn't as good as everyone thinks?
It is September, my guys. The game is only like 5 months old and we still have two waves of DLC and presumably balances and changes and such to come. I personally think it's way too early to give a fuck about any of that considering how awesome these guys are making this game look. This show, Summer Jam, the whole year thus far i dont think there's been one Major dud. Sonic isn't winning EVERY tournament anymore, the player base from average to above gdlk has increased and been blended with new faces, the production value goes up with all the more experience guys like KP and Mr. Aquaman get running the show...that's what sucks to me about the community being what it's been the last long while; on the flipside of things, the tournament scene has looked amazing this year.

I am of the impression that for now, we'd all be better served just learning everything we can and enjoying the show.
Shit, I'm picking up Dr. Fate. Bdon left me no choice. He looks too weird NOT to experiment with.

Issue here is, everyone in top 8 either played deadshot as a pocket, a main or didn't main a character that counters him this meant that it was gonna be DS infested.

I do think there is a meta around DS, but only Semiij was a counter to it in that top 8, then when Sonic also has Cold he had the hard counter to the hard counter.

Also the lack of Theo in that top 8 I think made a difference too

Well your opinion carries a lot of weight. Since you have the perspective of that environment and playing at the top level, my honest question to you is this:

Assuming NRS were to leave DS as he currently is and nothing else major were to change in terms of balance with the rest of the cast, what would be different about future top 8's? Would more players focus directly on DS and pickup a counter, or would we see more and more players simply pick up DS?

I understand that a meta can shift even if one character beats most everyone simply because that character becomes such a focal point that everyone ends up with a counter.

Let me also add that I've always enjoyed watching your DS.

My problem is less with the design of the character and more with the reality of what this potential future DS meta represents as a viewer, and what the experience of the viewers represents for the game in the long-term. I really love I2, and it seems so well balanced to me that I would hate to see top 8 representation centered primarily around 1 character.

Deadshot with a cc pocket is too strong. The only character that could contest this is supergirl, but ds d1 wins that mu. Our hope lies in starfire
