Unlocking and Source crystals

That's a huge bummer! I's one thing if they wanna do that but at least tell people, this isn't 1992.

Source crystals are lame, but given that they could have made EXPONENTIALLY more money by doing an Overwatch style pay-for-loot-boxes situation and chose not to, I think we should cut them a break here.

What's the difference? I play a lot of ow and they don't have anything that won't eventually show up in a loot box, and opening them gives you the singular currency to buy everything else. I stand corrected, overwatch is way better. You also obtain loot boxes pretty quickly by playing the competetive mode and even quicker for the arcade stuff, and there isn't tiered loot boxes that are usually worthless. I'd rather get a Mcree spray and coins than a common swamp thing legs and a joker arms.

I love most of injustice 2 but I'm falling out of love with the gear stuff pretty quickly considering it's only been a few months.

Make sure you complete story mode 100% from all perspectives that gives a hefty chunk or at least it did when I played through it plus platinum and diamond mother boxes. You can get a lot of the stuff from grinding/playing too. I got all my Cheetah shaders sans like Vixen from just playing and same with Beetle other than two shaders so it's not that you have to even use source Crystals to get it done. You just would have to grind more and a little luck.
