Tested Dash Frame Data

SwagMountains

Yes we Kahn
Well hi, I doubt this is common knowledge because i've never seen any mention of dash frame data nor is it in move lists, but me and @megamonk4 tested forward and back dash frame data as well as transition advantage.

We tested forward dash frame data by recording atrocitus to do bloodnado and then block, and then trying to dash forward after blocking the bloodnado and punish. Bloodnado is -40 so if we dash then subtract the startup of the move we used to punish we can start zeroing in on how fast dashes are. By increasing the startup frames on the punish move until we found something he blocked, we feel that we have a good idea of how fast dashes are. So, we tested this on every character and have found that dashes are actually universally 22-23 frames fast. Every character could connect a 15-16 frame move after a dash on atrocitus and get a counter indecator, but not everyone has a 17 frame move. We landed swamp things stand 3 after a dash to punish atrocitus bloodnado, meaning dashes are at least 22 frames fast (accounting for the weird 1 frame input delay nrs thing).

Tldr; dashes look like they have different durations but they are all actually the same, the difference is the distance that they travel and if they pause at the end of their dash ie-cyborg.

We tested backdash by setting superman to 11 which is zero on block and then backdash. We forward dashed after him and tried to punish using our new forward dash data. We found that superman can connect his rising grab (11 frames) but not his sweep (12 frames) meaning backdash occurs in 35 frames, we also believe this to be universal.
Tldr-tested some shit backdash is 35 frames.

The implications of all of this are that we can measure the advantage granted off of stage transitions. A finding that we have made for certain is that after a stage transition a forwRd dash will leave you incredibly negative, do not forward dash and press buttons after transition friends haha.

Super tldr; dash is at least 22~23 frames fast, backdash is 35ish, you don't get to hit buttons after a transition on kahndaq where you have to dash forward tk be in range. Maybe you guys can test this more accurately but this is the information we were able to gather
