Help against Superman.

Blitzace10

I first joined TYM to get help on Injustice Gods Among Us cause I'm just a super average player. Well here I am again , looking for a little help.
I play Aquaman mainly and a little Green Lantern. Even after the patch, I'm sticking with Arthur. But even before, I am having a lot of trouble against Superman. Mainly, his back dash. It's always the same, F2, 3,Breath, Back dash because I block. I can not punish him on anything. I can in some cases do scoop and catch his back dash but it does like no damage. And if he doesn't back dash when I try to scoop, and instead does F2, I'm punished for a full combo. I tried Aqauaman's F2, doesn't work. I tried B2 , doesn;t reach. I tried Tentacle Strike, doesn't come out fast enough. My back 1 always seems to get beat out by everything Superman has. Well Mainly F2. I can't out zone him. I just don't know what to do. Any options would be great, Please guys give me some pointers. Thanks.

ahh, was waiting on that.
Lol, in all seriousness though I'm pretty sure you can out zone him. You get a FTD check after every lazer he does, air or ground. And you can punish air lazers so you win the damage war and jump ground lazers so you don't take any chip yourself.

The pressure thing you'll just have to look at frames and work out what you can/can't do, but I could have sworn B2 catches a back dash after breath. Also F1(his fast mid) should he useful for interrupting pressure as it's fast enough to beat another F2 and hit confirmable.

Hmmm , Ill try the B2 again to try and catch the Back dash, I kept trying to FTD after a jump lazer. Thinking that I could hit him on the way down but I never could. I' gonna try this , Thank you for the input.

Maybe punishing air laser is dependant on height. You at least get a FTD check for sure though

First thing is learn your options after you block a f23 breath or f23 trait. F23 trait is plus 2. If u have a 6 frame normal use that to interrupt a follow up f23. You will train the. And they will start doing d1 after the trait. Block the d1 and it's your turn again.

Breath is minus with some push back so test what beats poke or another f23. Good sups will then micro step back then whiff punish so be wary.

Practice all this. Fight the match a range where he is out of jump pressure. This will open up air to air situations when he dashes.

Push block more.

Sups is good but nowhere near supergirl or catwomen status

It always seems like Supes is always at an advantage. Just gotta be patient i guess.

I play both supes and AM. Here's my advice: learn to read your opponent. Superman is all about his f23 breath game. You can d1 trident rush after f23 breath to interupt anything he tries. If you see he's back dashing a lot then you can foward dash and b12 scoop will full combo punish the back dash. It's really all mind games and nothing else.

The real mix after the f23 breath is slight step back then another f23. That will whiff punish you d1 check attempt for 400+

if you block f23 overhead then depending on character you can d1 him and he cant space it out. he might block it but then you could do d1 special cancel and some characters have plus ones.

You can catch backdashes by doing a forward dash yourself. I know it may seem hard at first but that's a really important thing to learn on Inj 2. Forward dashes recover faster.

In the zoning you want to punish meterless air lasers with ftd and jump laser checks after Superman blocks a ftd.

I used to be able to do it on a read in Injustice 1, but not anymore. I think it's match up dependent since they increased the recovery of forward dashes...

I tested last night and d1 never touch him after f23 breath unless he did another f2.

I tried stand and crouch blocking. Maybe I misunderstood you

Depends on the character some d1s are too slow and stubby. Also it won't work if you're blocking just the end as overhead, you've got to block the whole string which could lead to you being opened up by f2d1 but if you're willing to take the risk then you could get out of the pressure easily.

Edit: I see the problem I was talking about f23 trait not f23 icebreath. If he goes for f23 trait he can't space out the d1 if you blocked the string overhead (depending on the character). Icebreath he still will be able to space it out
