What advice do you guys have for someone who's not fast enough at hit-confirming F23 into breath? I have the timing down perfectly for the cancel on block, but if F23 actually hits then it sometimes messes me up mentally. I really hate the cancel window in this game, wish it was more loose like Street Fighter.

The window is smaller than the move lets on. That said, this confirm is very doable.

Just keep practicing it. My first week or two playing Superman I had trouble with this. Now, I confirm properly more than 90% of the time (and that's being conservative). I'm not the most skilled at confirms in general, so if I can do it, you can absolutely do it. Practice and be patient with yourself.

If you don't know already, the best way to practice confirms in the laboratory is to set the AI to block "Random Combo."

Also, f23xxdb2 mb connects, so if you end up dialing out the db2 too quickly without confirming, you can meterburn it to keep your combo going.

Bizzaro is definitely a premiere skin and not gear, the Heat Breath stuns them with a different animation and the Freeze Zap didn't freeze. More Proof: Completely changes his appearance and voice.

Now THAT'S a premiere skin. Good stuff, NRS.
Any Idea when Bizzaro skin is available?

I dunno if anyone's posted this somewhere here already and I just missed it, but does anyone think that maybe Bizarro's skin might give some kind of advantage for corner combos that include heat zap...?

Like, based on the trailer, it looks like the fire breath move causes a hit animation that keeps even female hitboxes in a position where, on hit, heat zap would connect in the corner and allow for followups similar to the first Injustice. I dunno if those would be higher damaging since I heard they didn't work in this game and haven't tried them, but could the Bizarro skin make combos like that viable simply based on that animation?

The only time I used dash punch was to chip out my opponent..

Superman is definitely a strong character still.

Only thing that has me slightly concerned is the off handed comment about "oh and we scaled his damage slightly". I do hope it's microscopic. Superman is built around the damage he deals being that he has virtually no mixups save for some jury rigged ones in the corner. I'll wait for the actual data to come out but it's not like he was doing BA meterless damage. Superman needs bars for high damage as it is. Otherwise this game will just feed even more into the "third person shooter that's a fighting game on the side" logic with all the overwhelming zoning already present. Dunno about you guys but sitting back and tossing lasers isn't fun.

Guess we'll see when the notes release. On the other hand - feel like they could have still left the armor on bf3 and keep the change as a high but just scale down the distance.

It's a pretty big nerf. All you have to do is watch any Superman tournament set and you'll see tons of dash punches. Whether it be on wake up or in neutral.

Superman's lasers are reactable so it was really godlike to throw out at random times vs characters that have to crawl their way in like Scarecrow or The Flash. They'd often get tagged as they dash in and react to lasers.

I'd have to question if you really use Superman if you only use it to chip. It was his best wake up. The move gave Superman a ton of utility and now it'll be much more risky to throw out and completely useless as a wake up.

The amount of damage he loses will determine if Superman is still good or not imo.

Imho the nerfs are meaningless, expecially compared to how some of the other characters were changed. Dash punch on wake up was a gimmick anyway

Useless as a wakeup is kind of overstating it, I think. Most characters aren't going to simultaneously do a crouching move on your wakeup to go under the dash punch AND do a real mixup at the same time. If you think they're going for a mixup on your wakeup, you can get away with wake up dash punch. You still see people get hit with Atrocitus wake up sometimes. It's just situational.

I agree that the nerf will hurt at neutral though. Now if you try to mix up your lasers with dash punches and they read it you might just die. Seems like a bit much.

He's fine depending on how much they touched his damage
Exactly. For big boy damage Supes was already reliant on his trait. Without trait and spending a bar you can still get 300+ but need to work for it. I'm hoping his BnB (f23, T, f2 x mb breath, etc) still does above 400 because that is what keeps him in matches and can turn the tables if you get off to a bad start.

Dash punch on wake barely had any invincibility frames it wasent a good wake up, People just werent stuffing it correctly.

I think if supes damage doesnt get hit too bad, imo he will probably be the best character in the game

But well see these new buffs to flash, canary, chetah looks kinda dumb. please dont turn inj2 into mkx NRS i beg you we have had it with retarted 50/50 characters

Of I use Superman, I used him before you in Injustice 1; he was my main and still technically is here.

That aside, I mostly used Flying Punch as a mobility tool, chip, or for a safe wakeup (that is easily stuffed) since they were expecting rising grab.

As for dashes, we have F23 and random breaths outside of dash distance can send them fullscreen for dashing.

There can be only one
Totally depends on how much damage reduction they give him. They did call him one of their heavy hitters, and I don't think it would make much sense for Supes to have low combo damage, so I have high hopes that it's a small tweak.

You said you only used it to chip. No good Superman just uses it to chip.

Your response is basically "lol I used him in justice 1 bro", then in the next paragraph you corrected yourself. lol

Imo you're just a Fate player with an agenda to upplay Superman.

Personally it just seems like NRS felt like they "had" to touch him. As if no changes would have made him stupid. The nerfs they gave him were just dumb as they are changes that are there for the sake of being there. The character wasn't doing stupid damage, he didn't have inj1 F2 or anything like it, and his damage only really got high in the corner and even then it's still no where like it used to be in the first game. All in all I just expected to him to be left alone, the only thing that I could see being a reasonable change was the rising grab nerf but that's it. The other stuff was just them honestly just touching the character for the sake of, which made really no sense.

It's not irrelevant and it's not world-ending. As long as his damage didn't take a significant hit he'll still be a pretty good character.

RGHV is a HKD now btw.
