Currently the matchmaking is pretty bad. There needs to be some sort of point based system or something along those lines so matchmaking isn't so random.
Currently the best way to play online is to build a friend list and invite players for sets. If there was some sort of skill based matchmaking or a way to search for players around your skill level it would make the game way more enjoyable. Instead we get a mixed bag of good, bad and average players with varying connections and people who refuse to not use gear. There's nothing enjoyable about it.
I consistently opt out of playing because I don't know how long it's going to take to find somebody decent enough with a good connection to play against. I'm sure there's others that feel this way. It's been like this in pretty much every NRS game.
