Trait Tier Discussion

Scarecrow's trait is much better than people realize. When optimized properly it can loop itself quite effectively. You can do traumatize -> pop trait again -> combo to build it again.

Also the dot is amazing for closing out matches. Creates some delightfully salty reactions.

Best traits in the game are Batman's and Atrocitus' tho.

Kinda funny how Joker ended up with the worst trait in the game twice in a row. It needs a total rework, but we're probably not going to get it. I don't understand how the developers don't realize the speed up buff is worthless, especially now that Joker's j2 was nerfed to hell.

Joker did not have the worst trait in inj1. Cyborg and Deathstroke had bottom 1 and 2 free. He might not even have the worst in this game, as unlike Braniac he actually gets to use his.

Swamp's trait would be solid if:

A) It activated much faster (a la Darkseid's) and could be combo'ed into outside of a wallbounce on one map.
B) It stayed out on hit. Make it deplete faster if Swamp thing gets hit, but the fact that he has to put out this slow ass trait and walk backwards/forwards only to get D1 or peppered by a single projectile and it's over is pretty lame. Tick throws are a much better use of your resources in the corner than trait is.
C) He could jump/dash and keep it active. F21 is the only way to get it underneath your opponent outside of a corner setup (sacrificing damage) or having them walk into it.

I'm not that familiar with joker, but can't you use j1 instead of j2? Seems extremely hard to anti air.

I think WW's trait is ok. The actual individual buffs the trait gives are all solid, but the random nature means the player needs to be well versed in all 5, and be comfortable incorporating any of the 5 into their current match on the fly. But at least with practice/familiarity WW can get solid utility out of her trait every time she activates it. Seems better than having a trait like Swamp Thing's, which seems harder to actually use in match.

Edit: WW's trait also has a fast cooldown and stays active for a good amount of time, so with solid play a WW player can have some type of buff active for the majority of the match, if they choose.

It is better this way
Depending on the cooldown rate, Sub's trait will probably be top tier. If it's one klone then wait it'll still be good but probably not top. If it's like Supergirl's where there's a bar and placing a klone depletes it, and the double klone uses the whole bar, then I could see it being top.

I sincerely hope the latter is the case. Plus a MB option that places 9 clones in random locations.

Don't give them ideas... they will make his trait place the clone at a random point on screen. Sounds dumb? I bet Wonder Woman players would agree.

Hmmmm a tier list for all the characters huh okay well heres my two cents:
(in specific order)
S Tier
- Atrocitus -
So the cat pretty much makes all of his strings safe, or plus. All of his whiffs safe, gives him a free shield to get in, gives him new combos, and meterless corner damage avove 400? Please. Without dex, atrocitus is a big dumb salt monster. Case closed fix that shit nrs :)
- B. Adam -
Ha...hahaha......HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Okay soooooooooooo do i really need to explain? He can fucking close out a win when you have 15% health lol. Pops trait, divekick in or mbroll and boom gg bitch boi 2 ez skrublort! Instant next opponent....but seriously the only reason this trait isnt numero uno is because it goes away on hit and its not guaranteed like atroc. Still gives him extra unscaled damage on his already bullshit damage.
- Fishboy -
So ive seen people put this guys trait at a tier or whatever is right below the best, but honestly, think they just havent seen good usage of it or a good aquaman. A GOOD aquaman takes risks but they are heavily calculated. However shit happens and peopl will eventually get through all the tentacle porn and achilles style spears to chest, and when they do.....bloop. Dont like a combo and they havent launched yet? Bloop. Oh theyre canceling into mbb3 for a combo lanucher? Bloop. Or hey you dont like getting hit by all 3 of black adams cockshocks of zeus? Down bloop. Its good for what a good aquaman player needs it for and thats why imo its s tier.
- I am the Batman -
Lol okay so, wait wait hahahahaha hold on haha im dying. You mean to tell me, not only do his bats give hit stun for days enough for him to casually walk up and shove a fist so far up your ass you taste guano, AND they make his strings safe? And they give him easy ins, AND they combo, AND he can use them to combo if the OPPONENT TECHS YOUR THROW...yah. The ONLY reason this guy isnt in the bullshit category for me, is because i am such a huge non batman fan that i wont allow him to be number 1 or 2 just out of principal. He has enough doesnt he? Yah i think so, except parent am i right? Hahah, ya...yah i am.

A Tier (no particular order)

- ms mary jane -
So her trait is likeable, if only it wasnt away on hit. But it gives you some excellent pressure and safety longrange and potentially during combos, and also....you get to name the cute little snot monster :)
- Shouldve been Mr fucking freeze -
So clearly we know where i stand on captain cold. That said, his trait is pretty decent. Sure the 3rd stage is ass and pretty much not worth. But man, the grenade setups. And the armor can be a nice deterrent for low health victims
- If i only had a brain -
I like scarecrow, a lot. I like him in the game, the comics, the show. This dr jekel and mr jekel character is awesome to me. And his trait is kinda cool honestly. Sure its not is potent of a game ender as adams, but it can end a game and also adds to his already good damage, and makes the opponent kinda...scared of you haha. See what i did there?
- cant think of a funny name for darkseid -
I love boss characters. Because im the kid who when i played sword fights with friends (unless you were one of those "cool" and "popular" kids who "werent born with social retardation" you know what i mean) would be the "wizard" or "sorcerer" or whatever magical overpowered person i could be, as we all know magic beats sword in the mind of a child. Fooooorrrceefield foooorrrcee field (if anyone gets this reference you are my new blood brother/sister). Anyway, his trait is dope af dawg. 3 different types to add to his bogus mixup game? Cool, oh and they all track? Okay cool ds, oh hey ds can i jump when you have trait out? No? Well hey can i move? No? Well how about blinking? Breathing? Poit is its good
- hey look at me i wear my underwear over my buttfucking pants and havent figured out thats the WRONG way to do things in over 70 years -
Supermans trait is cool. Extra damage. Comboable. Cool superman. Just....just cool.
Aaaaannnndddd i give up on these satyrical tier list doing this on a phone is fucked. Heres the list lol for anyone who gets to this point and even cares

Wonder woman ("alright jim what do you got for wonder womans trait, we need something really new and spectacular to empower our women characters" "uhhhhhh, how about we make her have RAANNDDOM traits that she cant control so she seems like the least empowered character on the roster?" "LOVE IT! Jim you deserve a promotion how would you like to be lead design for future traits of all characters?" and the FGC community silently cries.)
Swamp thang
Heh.

If WW trait wasn't random then they would have to severely nerf the cooldown. The buffs are too good not to be random. Or you could remove the useless one (bracelets) and increase the chance of getting one of the other 4 and keep it random.

Speaking of ww... is it by design the shield one doesn't help her shield projectile?
When the shield is buffed, any shield toss eats other projectiles. I thought there was a damage boost as well, but that might just be for the other shield attacks like her shield bash and up shield move.

I'm not that familiar with joker, but can't you use j1 instead of j2? Seems extremely hard to anti air.
j1 is good for close cross ups, but the hitbox is still too small to be a consistent cross up. In IJ1, Joker's J2 rivaled Batman. In this game, they nerfed it to hell while keeping Batman's the same. I just don't understand the design decision behind that.

Joker did not have the worst trait in inj1. Cyborg and Deathstroke had bottom 1 and 2 free. He might not even have the worst in this game, as unlike Braniac he actually gets to use his.
I don't know about Cyborg, but Deathstroke definitely had set ups. The Joker's trait in the old game was basically just a counter attack with barely any active frames. The buff you got from it was worthless, so it was bad overall. At least it came with a counter back then.

In this game, Joker's trait is just garbage, period. It has no utility whatsover since the buff is bad and his main aerial was nerfed severely. It needs a total rework, but NRS will probably just tweek the buff time or frames on the laugh. The thing is though, the effect itself isn't worth having. No top level Joker uses this trait. None. That should tell you something.

I'm very curious as to why some people put Red Hood's trait so high up on the list.

Most seem to just put it middle of the pack which seems to be the category of"useful but not likely to be a core element to the char" which is better than"pile of crap that won't be used in any situation" a la joker/swamp. Red hood gets a projectile to mix with at long ranges a restand and chip only rivaled by aquaman out of trait.
