Why were you using MB wall to push him away? No MB Roll, I know it can be hard to time but gotta use it. No icicle pressure on KD. Non optimal combos. Not even sure why you played the range game as imo Cold is much better at pressure than Fate and the match should be fought up close where Fate doesn't have the advantage. Don't know if this vid was suppose to show fate wins MU or just out zones Cold.

Makes sense. Prob shoulda went back and reread posts rather than ASSume. Maybe next time... NOT(who has that much freetime?). Oh the 90's.

Found a 630 (iirc) damage setup in the corner for 1 bar that I think could reasonably hit in a real match. After knocking your opponent down, do F4 into D1 > meter burn wall. If it hits, the opponent will be floating due to F4 so you can do 3 > projectile 3 times in a row before the enemy gets frozen. You have setup options here or you can go for damage and just do 3 > wall. If they block it, they are pressured to get out of the ice zone.

Didn't bother reading 7 pages so maybe people know it already.

Cold has a myriad probs, but with the right mindset he will be a deadly opponent against most of the cast, and especially against the CQC.

He lacks the 50/50, but has a good gameplay to be a defensive character as an ice guy. Every combo string starts always in high or middle. Not in low. The only low you can get are the BF, D1, D2 and D3.

His problem is that his Wall doesn't work against the summoning projectiles (Cyborg's bots, i.e.). It works on simple projectiles, like the bullets and the shots every character throws on him. It, also, works against the CQC chars, because this PREVENTS them from getting close to him, so you can punish them afterwards.

Actually, his tools are deadly traps to prevent the CQC and some of the zoners. They slow or trap them down. This is why he will have a grave problem against the zoners at most, if you don't do something to stop them.

Someone confirm. I am pretty sure he lost all his trait after clashes. It seems now he only loses the built up meter that is not a complete bar or loses 1 bar? It was late when I was playing so I need to retest this.

So far, no. I would know from either I tested him, or hearing the others tell about this. Will test it, too. Seems really a bug. Can you record it somehow, if it insists?

I thought it was like this before the latest update, I definitely remember only the unfilled bar disappearing and not the whole trait.

Tested it with other char as well. It's universal. Either it's intentional or it's a bug that eats. For the auto-charging characters it resets to 1/10 of the whole bar. For CC it resets to the very start of each trait level.

For CC, if you reach to 1,5 traits, and get clashed, it will reset back to 1 lvl filled trait. I don't know about the whole cast, but it's like this.

@16 Bit , some clarification on this would help a bit. Is it intentional or a bug?

The fact that he has a string that is just high, high, high is hilariously dumb.
Isn't that b232??? The one used for a myriad of juggles??? Not every string needs to be viable in neutral. The bigger issue is the amount of strings, if he had a few (hell even just another mid or two) more varied strings, this string wouldn't seem out of place.

If it's some other string then which one, I'm away for the weekend and that's the only one that i can think of.

EDIT: it also allows trait charge after juggles (Original wrongly said caused HKD)

I think this character would be way less clunky if trait could not be held but he instead got a full bar of trait for pressing the button. Make it a shorter channel time than the current time it takes to get a full bar, or maybe keep it the same and higher levels don't take longer charge time. Give him the option to meter burn it for 2 bars maybe.

His trait needs something done to it imo as it's way too hard to find time to charge it. His level 3 seems garbage and a complete waste of meter.

Captain Cold feels like an unfinished character.
 
I feel his trait is fine level 3 sucks but when I never use all 3 at once I got for level 2 then level 1 instead , or keep it so that I can out zone ppl for how quick the start up is on the bf1 he needs no gap on f2 122 I can understand because it's plus 5 . But I was wanting it to be 12 then a gap so they respect the oh

Can confirm this is how it always worked. You only lose incomplete bars, full bars stay after the animations.
