It does mean something for WiFi unless you only have a router and/or WiFi card that only supports the 2.4GHz band.

If your router and device (phone, PC, console, etc) supports the 5GHz band, it will get the full speed of your connection. This doesn't however make it any more suitable for online gaming (not FGCs, anyway). It just makes it easier to download games faster and stream better.

And you missed the point. Which is $10 very affordable, and they need a wired cord if they're wanting to actually compete online seriously.

And your sitting there EXPERIENCING that lag spike when your about to hit Your TD. Your head shot. Your 3pt shot. Your move. Your combo you've practiced for hours and hours in the lab and it spikes...

Don't be salty when you remember what you have said. Because it seems you don't mind those spikes and those "situations" that cause it when YOU know you work damn hard to pay for your internet and console and game which you just lost time. Time you can't get back because your opponents or some random can't get a $10 or $20 cord and some tape or tacks and run yo shit.

I hope I'm wrong and your just "upset" at the tone of the tread.

Player match does not say gear only. Nor does it say it's only for casuals. It's a voting option to have it on or off. It should be by default but it's all good. Even with your gear on I've beaten many and I'll continue to do so after if I choose to play in that mode.

There's only a few players I've ran into that are good in player match & I've backed out of plenty of matches with your dress up characters.

It doesn't say that, no, but those of us with any interest in competitive mode at all are a very small fraction of the IJ2 playerbase lol. It does not make sense to set competitive on by default in the main mode. They have provided ranked for exactly that purpose.

I do think they should make it an option when you're creating a KOTH room, though.

Your point was do I need 10$that is in fact exactly what you said lol. My point was I already am set up wired which in my original post is exactly what I said. So how am missing a point which you in your last reply actually never stated.

After reading this thread and each post defending wifi hurts me more than the last, i have come to a conclusion. Stop making excuses you wifi plebs and get wired. If you plan on playing in online tourneys competitively you need wired, it has been proven to be way better than wifi. And too those who are like "bruh my my wifi is so god like breh like its nasa type shit." Like plz stahp lol, maybe if your playing ppl that live near you but imagine playing someone from an opposite coast on wifi, like its already annyoing because even with wired its usually still like 120 ping, but then wifi is a factor and then maybe someone else in your houses uses that wifi while its happening, then the match becomes mkx prepatch day 1 netcode. Anyway ppl on wifi plz get wired, and if you cant (that sucks) but you shouldnt be suprised if some online tourneys make wired a must have. @Pig Of The Hut

Isn't the ping latency of your connection more impactful than whether or not it's wired? I thought it was all about data packet loss?

Solid Wi-Fi connection is completely fine... until the hiccup.

And then it's back to completely fine... until the hiccup.

You don't need really need even a 100/10 connection to play online. And there's plenty of Wi-Fi that handles that and lets you play completely fine.

....until the hiccup.

After one night online the new system is pretty sweet and the differences between the two is not only noticeable... it obvious. Some of the wired connections were better than others but they were all stable... as in remained the same for entire match. Wifi was the big pile of steaming horseshit that we all know it to be. Cased closed.

Ps.. I got bodied by a streamer that is kinda known I guess... on wifi... Dude was playing, streaming, and talking while using wifi. I got nothing against him as a person but that is kinda messed up.

Next time I go bowling I'm going to wear flip flops. Renting shoes is a whopping $4, and I simply can't be bothered to wear socks.

May I also say that I'm taken aback by these league bowlers on Wednesday nights that are striving to bowl a 300 game? I want to play with the gutter bumpers up, but their oft askance scowls make me feel inferior.

Life is hard.

Most of the $10 ones have like $10 shipping, just a way to get people to buy them. Although, advertising as $20 with free shipping would be a better strat imo

My router is in my living room my game room is up to flights of stairs and end of a hallway I bought a cable and just zip tied it all the way up it and it clean and out the way there no excuse for ppl it's 2017 jeez I been doing these in everyone of my apartments since 360 and I got annoying dogs who will fuck anything up on sight

Man I would have loved playing wired all this time, but I've been called a cunt for politely asking someone to not fall asleep with Netflix and torrents running in order to play some better matches. Im just imagineing this person walking through the front door to find a cable across the floor, they follow it through the living room, kitchen, up the stairs, and eventually to my bedroom. Their head slowly tilts upwards and they see me playing a video game with BATMAN FIGHTING FUCKING SUPERMAN LOL. This should be good.
