Injustice 2 Patch (TODAY) Notes including Wi-Fi indicators and more

I would argue wireless is now more the norm than not. Everywhere you go, there is WiFi, and it's getting to the point where there is almost no difference in quality between wired and wireless. Not quite yet, but almost. Game companies should keep up with the times. I already have a web of cords for all my game consoles and my TV, plus the modem and the router cords, etc. I don't want to add one more cord.

I'll grant you that at this point in time, wired is a little more reliable, and for a fighting game where split second decisions are required, yes, for competitive play wired is probably preferable. For casual players like myself though, WiFi or not it makes no difference. I've had plenty of good connections matches in MKX over the last two plus years.
I would say the state "there is almost no difference in quality" is categorically untrue when you consider the technology behind both of them. Until wifi becomes true full duplex and comes up with a next generation frequency agility model it's not even close.

If you went to an offline gathering at somebody's house with multiple setups.... would you play the guy that's on the 2006 60" plasma tv or would you play the guys on the Asus monitors?

Cause the guy on the plasma lands all of his combos, no problem. It's not a big deal. Don't make him feel like a peon.

Doesn't prove shit

It only proves at that moment and second that's what ur stats are. It also shows u have no freaking clue what you're talking about. Over the course of 3-5 hours of gaming compare those stats of packet loss to that of wired

Stop littering this thread w shit agendas
I already mentioned in earlier post that wired is for sure better. Just cuz you don't wanna see Wi-Fi icons, no need to b a dick to me. I'm just saying for some people thier Wi-Fi may be good enough to not have to go through the trouble I just went through. I obviously know wired is better or I wouldn't have just gone through this pain. Everyone reserves the right to not play Wi-Fi guys unless on ranked don't they? So what's the big panty ruffle.

Indeed, you could explain to him why you prefer to play on the monitor over the TV. And the shocking thing is, you can inform him without being pretentious. I know, it's a novel concept!

And I do that. And then he tells me that the plasma is perfectly fine and reliable. And he shouldn't have to rearrange his setup just to play a video game. And then complains about not getting any games.

And then I tell him I'm not playing on his plasma tv and use a monitor if he wants to play. And now I've become a dickhead and treated him like a peon.

It's too laggy to poke...
During igau I lived in a college town and it was impractical to have a wired connection in my various living arrangements. When I wanted to play online, I went to my closet and grabbed my 100ft cat6 and had a wired connection only for online sets. No excuses. Its lazy and ultimately disrespectful to the people you play against.

Looks like I'll have to dig out my old 100 ft cord... And buy the game and psn and set up a tv and... Maybe I'll put it off

And if that's the way it plays out, then yes. He's obviously a cocksure idiot and it's fine to treat him like a peon. But this "treat all like peons" mentality is unbelievably toxic and it shouldn't require explanation as to why it should be avoided.

I haven't even really been playing online due to being on wifi. This is the first fg that actually felt good online. I think because of being on wifi i only played a total of like 60 matches online since february, when I moved into new place. All because I didn't want to cause lag. I was just dreading having to run this wire. At least now that I have I can actually grind some online matches.

No one is buying the horse shit your selling. It's a video game, no one Cares enough about another individual to actually do anything to change their gameplay experience.

Can't you be any more original? "Netflix and porn" huehuehuehue

That's all you see people tossing around blanketing their statement. Good job trying to be like everyone else instead of actually having a real discussion.

Not everyone can be wired.
No reason to be original when a point is trying to be made. The discussion is literally wireless is bad wired is better. Wired cords are cheap. Invest in it. I have only seen a few actual cases of people literally not being able to play wired. Some of the people defending wireless have no idea what they are talking about. Am I being a fuck. Yes. But why are you replying to me about it when there are plenty of other people who being just as bad

Actually, this is the very reason I went wired back in Injustice 1. @_xFriction asked me to get wired so we could play and I went out and bought a cable. Even offered to pay for it himself. So yes, people do care enough. Playing in lag or having any sort of lag spikes isn't fun for anyone.
