Injustice 2 Patch (TODAY) Notes including Wi-Fi indicators and more

Its not about the connection, it's the attitude towards it.

Its online ranked, no-one cares about results. No-one cares if you're top of the league. You gonna pull your cable to the top like wolfkrone? No-one cares if you do, no one cares if you don't.

You wanna train for an offline tournament? Train offline. You're lucky the netcode is so good you think it's a viable alternative. Maybe have a wired lobby.

I know some of you turn online results into offline wins, you probably did that with games with worse netcode, maybe it doesn't really matter that much.

Tfw all the ppl triggered don't even play competitively...
While it is a bit silly people are getting so rustled over this (especially if it doesn't affect them as "casuals"), it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that a thread like this is definitely going to serve to dissuade any ideas of playing competitively if they use Wi-Fi.

Some of you have been exposed lol Besides, any of you complaining about getting declined because you're wireless shouldn't be worried anyway since you can just play someone else who's wireless, evidently you're in the majority.

You need to play at highest level to wanna enjoy your matches without lag spikes / dropping combos because of your opponent using 3G/4G ?

Sorry, I never reached EVO top 8, yet I play wired and hope others do, because playing online fighting games with random lag, is never ever a fun moment.

But maybe lagfest is fun to you ?

Being "competitive" has nothing to do with enjoying smooth matches, IMO.

The only guys that might be ok with lagfests, are button mashers and casuals (as in, people that do random moves, watch FaceBook as they play, etc ... none of TYM should fit here).

Look I'm going to be that guy. I have terrible internet. 1.5mb down .5 up. Nothing I can do about it. That's literally the best I got. This caused me to dig out my powerline adapter (which I used in mkx). Been playing smooth ever since. On wireless I could have 4 percent packet loss and even tho my gear is optimized to handle that, it's still a loss of packets. You can play this game on 1.5 down smoothly as long as you are wired, and have your connection optimized. Wireless is in fact a big no no, especially if you have less than a 10mb connection.

You misunderstood the context. The people who are triggered about being "casted away" by Pig for playing wireless, don't even play competitively.

Guysss....I...I uhh... ummm.... I SOMETIMES PLAY ON WIFI!

FUCK! EVERYONE NOW KNOWS MY ROUTER ISN'T IN MY BEDROOM AND I HAVE EVEN STREAMED FIGHTING GAMES USING WIFI LOL. Discarded to the shadow realm of gear users and officially banned from Red Hot Sundays. Gosh darnit!

To those concerned about the powerline debates.

Ethernet is the cheapest but least practical way for many (some people need to run a 100ft cord), but provides the absolute best speed and latency.

Powerline adapters are next they are more practical and 100x more consistent than wireless in terms of ping and transfer speeds. Still not S+ like hard line, but much much better than wireless.

Wireless. Most convenient, but most susceptible connection. Microwaves and other forms of interference can affect your connection. Highest latency, and slowest transfer speeds.

To sum it up, if you tested all of these by pinging the same device in your home, it would look like this.

Ethernet cable (hard line) - 1-2ms ping consistently

Powerline - 3-4ms ping consistently

Wireless - 3-15ms ping fluctuating constantly on a lot of internal and external factors.

Ethernet or Powerline or bust.

fuck...I guess I might as well start blasting my rap music through my kinect mic as well.

In all seriousness this is great, will it give us the option to decline someone just because they are using wifi? That would be awesome!

Also SCARECROW BUFFS! AND DEADSHOT BUFFS YAY
Don't forget to have your child running around screaming while you blast your Rap music.

The question is, how much will this really change in the normal online scene? Ranked will remain the same, only people will be extra salty if they get paired with someone who is on wifi. And are people really going to spend 15+ minutes declining match after match in player match until they eventually find someone who is wired (and still could have a shit connection)?
It's just an excuse fad. I would imagine it would be easy to hide the wireless connection through access points or adapters. I never thought that wireless could make such a difference since ping is the only indicator to go by. If people are degrading their connection to get by with a win during a match then the game should be programmed to indicate this and flag the perp. No different then someone pulling out the jack just before losing.

NRS should have a player stat showing avg packet loss if they really want to address this as an issue.

The wifi thing is cool but it kind of annoys me that some people on here use that as the MAIN excuse as to why they got mopped up. Not outplayed or anything, but because there was a few lag spikes at full screen.

It's the year 2017. Wireless Internet is now a thing, along with smart phones, self-driving cars, and intelligent robots. Game companies should make their games work with WiFi, just as well as wired. Just saying.

The speed of light is the speed of light. All you guys boasting your up and download speeds need to understand that it doesn't affect your connection to another player in a fighting game. The only things that matter are ping and line quality. The only thing high up and download will do for you is make it so that your connection doesn't slow down when other people are using the network.

You can have a biliion up/down vs 5 up/down and your connection t whoever you regularly play will be the same as long as nobody else is using your network. If your ping is high you're going to experience more delay due to distance. No amount of up and download will correct that.

Wired is proven to be more stable than wireless.

fuck you NRS with this wifi indicator bullshit.. if the ping is good it shouldn't matter.. now its going to be harder to find matches even though I reliably have 50-100ms ping.. try-hards are going to back out anyways.. how about balance your game
