I honesty think that mbf3 is an insane tool for supes.

One should not be afraid to spend a bar of f3 on their wakeup to blow it up. Sometimes even a f23xxmbf3 cancel isn't even a bad shout despite it costing 2 bars.

His f3 is +7 on block, thus you can f23xxdb2 them for days, or throw in a cheeky grab.

Supes builds a ton of bar with lasers and f23xxdb2, so I think that it is not a waste to sometimes spend a couple bars on some pressure.

I have been thinking the same thing as well. Once you get them respecting you F3 can be very effective. Even if they block it it's still your turn and you build decent meter back.

If you're mid screen you really don't need to use anything else besides F23-breath. He doesn't really have anything else that serves the same purpose either.

In the corner however you can try using F2D1 to ensure they are blocking correctly. 223 isn't bad for the same purpose as its safe on block and combos if you catch them with the final hit.

F23 has spoilt me rotten. Playing other characters without a quick advancing mid requires a ridiculous amount of mental adjustment when I decide to take a break from Superman to play anyone else.

Same thing happened in the first game too.

Hey guys! So i may be late on this but one thing i noticed is the gap in f2d1xxbreath. One thing i would try to do is f2d1××F3. It will blow up the opponent trying for trying to blow it up and it also low high mixup or a low low mixup if you condition them to block after the d1 and cancel into scoop instead.

in Maybe. I havent tested that out but even if they could its not really a problem. The whole idea behind it is to exploit the fact that your opponent knows about the gap in f2d1xxbreath. Even if they block the F3 your still plus on block and you can still do stuff like cancel F3 into a foward dash and throw them or f2xxtrait etc.

I think this video shows the power of supe's mbf3 and f23xxmbf3 ....he builds a ton of bar, its plus so why not ?

Oh man yesterday I faced Aquaman, man! I felt my Superman like the New 52 weaker than the pre 52 Superman...

Anyway I struggle on how to punish him or how to to play against him?
Like when he do his tentacle attack on full screen it's hard to punish it with either with laser or flying punch...
his spamming EX fork attack it's does a lot of chip damage on block & it's save which it's my only option is push block.

If you have any tips or a video to learn the match up I will be grateful.

And yeah when I attack after F23, Breath his D1 either to trade or interrupt my second F2.
 
I like how f2,d1,3 is +13 on block, but the string doesn't come out when your opponent is blocking. Also I miss the setups that string used to give midscreen. I feel like they nerfed it beyond use.

My easy combo, for reference is 223, d2 xx trait, s3 xx mb breath, f3, s3 xx breath.

S3 combo I do is 223, s3 xx mb breath, f3, s3 xx trait, s3 xx breath.

You can omit trait if you don't have it obviously.

I do 223, 3 xx MB Breath, nj3, 3 xx Breath. Never actually thought about using F3 in that scenario because I figured the bounce off 223 would use up too much gravity in the combo to allow 3 xx Trait, 3. Good to know that works.

I don't know if many will agree with this, but I feel like Superman actually wins most matchups (even his tougher ones) IF he can get his opponent to the corner. Against a good opponent this is obviously easier said than done but I'm yet to find a matchup that doesn't swing his way when he gets their backs against the wall. It was the same in Injustice 1.

After mb breath I do db3 3 breath. IDK which one is more, I havent tried nj3 or f3 yet
I just do nj3 because db3 doesn't work on 4-5 characters. Too lazy to remind myself if my bnb will or won't work on whatever character i'm fighting.

Should I always be cancelling on block from F23 into breath? F23 is -2, breath is -1. I'm not the greatest at hit-confirming yet, hence why I mess up the cancel timing sometimes if its on hit. I'm a Street Fighter guy and really not used to the Injustice cancel window for specials.

I've also been cancelling into Trait a lot out of F2. On wall bounce from B3, I've been following up with J2 - D2 xx BF3, then checking full-screen with DB1. Anything else for a basic Superman? Thanks.

Optimized is 223, 3 x mb breath, f3, 3, 3 x breath I believe.
Edit- trait doesn't work before the f3

Anyone get any cool abilities outside of the level 10 and 20 stuff?

Google can't find much on what else he has. I got the MB heat zap but that's not too exciting.
