Street Fighter V General Discussion

Your mothers main.
That's what they ALL say, see you in a couple of months. :DOGE

Seriously though, hopefully t7 ends up being a good fighter if it's not out yet, never really got into tekken games but they look like there's lots of space control and stuff. Seems like the skill ceiling is kinda high right? Anyways I'm playing inj2 and so far really liking it. I'm also hyped for mvci.
People are gonna be pretty pissed, while a new game t7 is still very legacy and the skill gap will be huge if you have never played a modern Tekken game. Especially if you have never or not played a 3d fighter seriously in a while. I am sure there will be tons of new players to lvl up with though but if you think you can just jump in rank and cheese your way up the ladder its gonna be tough.

Yea I get what you're saying. It does look like it can be a hard game to master. And being 3D makes the spacing very important also. I don't plan on playing it as its really not my cup of tea even though I've never played it but I'm sure it's hella fun.

Seriously you will have a blast with tekken if your playing against people around your skill lvl and lvl up together. Once you start playing ppl that have been playing for 20 years non stop they will just dance around you like Sugar ray and make you feel foolish, then it gets not fun lol.

Live by the sword, Die by the sword
When Injustice 2 dropped I took a break from SFV. Plus it's good to try something new but I've always knew I go back to it. I guess just playing something until the new update.

I know INJ2 is still knew but it pretty much still reminds me and give me the same feeling as INJ1. Good game but I'm not quitting SFV for it lol.

Lol, I hope the patching for USF2 doesn't cut into the SFV updates.

On another note, I am really excited for this next update. I can't wait for Ed and the two new stages.

I only really play offline single player modes and have been grinding through Survival for extra colours and FM.

Now, I'm also going to start playing a makeshift Arcade Mode, by doing Vs CPU against the first 8 DLC characters on random stages, then Balrog on his stage, Vega on his stage, Ed on Temple Hideout, and then Bison on the interior Shadaloo Base stage (the one with the four kings in the background)...

It's not as convenient as an Arcade Mode, there aren't any Arcade Mode type endings, or extra XP or FM, but it also should keep track of how many losses I had across the whole mode, and I'm happy to take on a new set of opponents other than the default 16 found in Survival.

A bunch of people have downloaded the new patch now, and while the server is still offline, you can still go through the menus and stuff...

Vol 2 Trials and Demonstrations have been added. Should be easy FM on top of the 50k we get for logging on in the next two weeks.

But I didn't want to dash
USF2 netcode is total ass. They took out the rollback and added massive input delay. Combine that with the controls and you've got yourself an unplayable game online for twice the price of the original release from 10 years ago.

It's all so very confusing.
This is actually a brilliant watch imo.

I've been taking my time away from SFv to dig in to interviews and articles far more than I did before, watching matches more analytically than before, that kind of thing. Very much a physical break from the game, but intellectually , I've hit it harder than before..

I have drawn up some extremely sad conclusions, and the above video does a better job of lining those up in a salt-free way that's well articulated and presented. Great watch.

The sum total to me though, is that Capcom is balancing and building their game based on spectating. It's not balanced for competitive play. It's not even balanced for fun or interesting play. Its not even DESIGNED for that. It's quite literally balanced to be interesting to SPECTATE.

Shrug. I might still check out Ed but I doubt it. Inj2 is just as silly and batshit as sfv (not as well a balanced/tier condensed, but it's early so we'll see) but I find it more fun and less raw frustration.. and with GG Rev2 and Tekken and KOFXIV hovering about, I can easily slake my thirst for a 'serious' competitive game - not that Inj2 isn't/can't be, I just mean my own approach to the game is based around fun and enjoyment more than competitive standing - without having to go back to SFV.

Obviously not a soul gives one shit in a million if I play SF or not and I didn't bring anything to the game of interest to begin with, but with all the options we have as FG fans, I can't help but think sfv is doing to see more bleed off than just me, and I hope if it happens, they wake the fuck up and start making the right kind of changes. My heart will always be in SF, but my ass - for now - is going to be in Inj2 and probably Tekken.
