This tournament was pretty hype for those who haven't seen here is the top 8 archive

Nobi top tier whore got kicked out by a Josie lol, B1 steve also got kicked out, Kagemaru was the man of the event imo, and super happy Jin took it, it just shows how viable he is compared to his previous counter parts post T4.

Can't wait for Early 2017.

Yeah, me either, which is why I just preordered the Tekken 7 Digital Deluxe edition.

That's right, I just preordered. I NEVER preorder games and this will probably be the only exception. Why I did it is for the simplest and funniest reason. I decided I don't want the physical copy of the game. See, if I had the physical copy, the XBONE would require I insert the disc everytime I want to play, and since I have friends in the Injustice scene now, and a physical copy of that game, it'd be hella inconvenient.

Like I said, I'll be fooling around with Injustice until whenever. but when I'm ready for full time Tekken, that's where I'm going. I had no doubt that the style of Tekken fits me better as a player, but now I'm thoroughly convinced that the balance of the Tekken series, makes it the game that is the most worth playing, especially considering my limited options, sans PlayStation.

Will Tekken cause me to buy a PS4 & a second copy?

Possibly. If I get good enough years down the road, and the XBL scene doesn't provide enough of a challenge, I might grab a PS4 Pro. But I definitely won't be doing that for an NRS game. LOL. In fact I probably won't get another one unless I really want to play the story.

What can I say? @Smoke_Of_Finland was right. And it didn't take long after the 16th to see it. Anyway. right now as I speak, there's a 40 GB update downloading to my hard drive. I imagine part of that is Tekken 6, my preorder bonus, but that probably isn't all. I got a little notification that Eliza is coming and the rest of the space is being prepared for 6/2/2017.

It's about time.

Can you guys help me git gud? I'm new to tekken and I don't know where to find useful stuff. The only youtube channel I know that gives some helpful advice on tekken is thainmanswe

June 2nd can't come any faster. I'm living my Inj2 glory right now hanging with some really good players, because I don't know how much time I'll be able to put in once that Tekken 7 comes out. I've been thinking about it literally every day counting down.

This is a very help forum here for Tekken. Have you played any of the earlier ones? What are the main things you're looking for as far as help goes?

EVRYTHING! Last time I played tekken was an old (don't know which) one at my laundromat when I was a kid. I tried ttt2 a few months ago and first thing I did was practice my movement but I want to start on a new game.

I think the best deal for Tekken 7 is the PS4 deluxe edition, because it has all the extras including the exclusive legacy costumes, the 4k quality and really the only thing it doesn't have from Xbox1 is the Tekken 6.

This tournament has shown that being a tier whore in Tekken at the highest level of play doesn't matter once again.
In the beginning of the pools Chikurin was playing and Markman said "This is the highest level of Jin play you will probably ever see" well, Chikurin almost didn't got out of the pools and didn't even reached top 32.

There is no doubt Chikurin is super good and that day things probably didn't go his way, but Chikurin also has a record of choking on matches and finding himself option less when he starts to get shutdown, he is probably more strong on longer sets.

Amigo on the other hand, has always been the clutch player, you should never count him out because just like Orange on the very unusual situations he keeps his cool and gets the best reads most of the time, this tournament was aligned for him and all went perfectly ever since he started playing, he ajusted every round, made the perfect reads and had a really strong keep out game from beginning to the end, i screamed "party" a lot everytime ppl got hit by the Zen 1+2 launcher ouf bf23~zen and f4~zen, it was super breath taking.
Harada was watching on stream and i really hope he doesn't decide to nerf Jin.

Nobi on the other hand was mauling the fuck up of everyone on losers with dragunov, but Kagemaru which is probably the highest level josie i've ever seen has put a stop to so many strong players and tier whore players with his characters, it was insane, that guy was on fire.

To anyone who wants to see where i've spotted amigo's latent potential, check this video with the time stamp of 32:50 in case the link doesn't bring you there.

@Eddy Wang: Yeah, yeah... Rub in the PS4 exclusives, go ahead :)

Actually, the thing I'm most jealous about right now, is the friggin Tekken Jukebox. That's dope! Don't get me wrong, classic Jin is nice, and Suspender King is cool looking, but that Jukebox, man... Oh well, a PS4 copy may not be far into the future and hopefully that stuff will be available still.
I'll check out your time stamp during my lunch break.

Jukebox is going to be awesome for sure, exclusives might not be a big deal to many people, but T4 Jin is everything, plus the Jukebox indeed. Legacy stick works perfectly as well too, and DOA still don't adds an update for that in their systems what a fucking losers lol.

I watched a Master Raven movelist video and the damage values seem to have been revised, as in decreased. I just wonder what the overall health will be for characters, most likely lower as well. Relative damage is still going to be the same, it's just that the exact numbers change.

I caught up and was able to watch all the recent tourney stuff. Amazing play!! The best part about the game being out for a while in other countries is seeing the high level playing and getting an idea on what to do and apply before it arrives.

Yeah, somehow. the thing they probably balanced further is the rage damage, its still does aditional damage, around 8% to 10% more and that's it, nothing too crazy like TTT2 where some characters could take half life with rage on, that game was stupid and i'm glad we're not playing it again.

Bryan has access to some ridiculous combos now. Soccer kick gives 1+2 - db2 - 4,3,4 where the last hit is a tailspin, you can get qcf4,1,4 after 3,3,2 in the back. Delayed/charged fF3 works as a tailspin after a balcony break etc.

With the hitbox buffs I just wish Heihachi could still use bf2 instead of d1 to be able to do the buff male/big boy combos.

Check out Aris' content at AvoidingThePuddle.com as well as his Youtube channel. LevelUpYourGame also had solid beginner guides. Whether it's T6 or TTT2, it doesn't matter. 99% of the content is still relevant.

Once the game drops, tell us who you are going to main and we'll probably be able to get you started.

Normalize grab immunity.
I'm now questioning if I even want I2 with Tekken so close by. I could play both but any time spent playing another game is time spent away from tekken

im not going to buy i2 with tekken so close. ill just keep playing sfv till early 2017. then that piece of shit will get Frisbeed out my back door.
Oh that made me laugh so hard!

Tekken heads, I've got a question. How do you do "instant" running moves, like Dragunov's instant running 2? Is it Forward, then back to neutral?

I've got Tag 2 on deck as I type this, and I think I just figured it out with Lee's running 3, 4 but I'd like to be sure.

I'm probably gonna try Bryan first, he looks sick, I'll also try kazuya and law.
