I think it depends on how the match goes honestly, if the zoning player is doing a good job keeping them out then it's not necessary to rush them down, know what I mean? However if the match is going 50/50 or you're having trouble outzoning them I can see that scenario. Just pointing out that typically speaking Fate, Firestorm's playstyle is definitely more to zone/keep out than rush down. Not saying they can't, but they won't be as good as it as say Batman or someone like that, you know? I see zoning characters as say they're having trouble doing so, to counter more so than rushdown unless the character is versatile and can literally do both like say Sektor in MK9 for example. If they can do that, then you have the best of both worlds. I definitely think FS has a few more rushdown options than Fate has though. However, Fate seems to have more set ups.
Yep we're on the same page buddy. I agree it's also a matter of knowing when or if you have to rush a character down, considering they have the life lead or better counter zoning. I also believe fate will be able to control the pace of the match better than any character which is good for his full screen game

Let's be thankful for the rushdown properties of the trait because it will cover the holes god forbid we have to rush some characters down ;)

Yeah for sure, plus his orb(even though the start up is a little slower) allows Fate to do a few things, as we saw in his stream he can stay back and do the pew pew pews lol putting extra zoning pressure or do the daggers OR he can rush you down to apply some 50/50 pressure if he races ahead of the orb. I can see some Fate players who are perhaps less patient doing this. True, I mean it's good to have options for sure, I am just one of those players who loves to zone but having options to hold my own up close is always a plus. One thing to remember, most of the time he won't have that blue fire trait active:) but understandable since it does give him a considerable buff lol

Shhh we gotta keep our strategies on the DL bro

So I was thinking, even if the launching explosion from the 3 ankhs successfully landed on the opponent is a mid, what happens if you land them and then grab your opponent? Unblockable launcher?

I like that idea and if fate can open up rushdown abilities like this without trait active, then we can probably just pop the trait and use it for enhanced zoning capabilities.

so in that video, anks are able to be called at any moment? if you can launch these during gaps in opponents pressure or during block stun ... that might be the thing i was missing and hoping for
Ankhs don't have hit stun or block advantage. Each ankh itself is unblockable 1% but when all three are used in conjunction that sky blast descends.

I recall the ankhs having hitstun in the air, both on the way up and in their descent. It was in the reveal trailer. Don't know why they don't have hit stun in the combo in the video. Must be some nrs shenanigans

Edit: ankhs cause hitstun on the way up in the trailer

So the gameplan is to maybe hold onto the Ankhs until you open them up for a combo and unleash them all mid combo?

Ankhs cause hit stun when juggled yes but not on an opponent just standing there.

But if someone is pressuring you and you send the ankhs at him AND he gets hit by them 3, he might still be able to pressure you while getting hit by them but he would have to hold the next projectile and lose his momentum.

That's actually might be true however from stream the window between the ankhs and the pillar is backdashable.

But at high level if that were true, who would pressure fate with ankhs out realistically.

Even if you can backdash it you would lose your momentum, which is exactly what a character like him wants.
Amm... That's the thing lol. A zoning character that can't get pressured freely when he has the three ankhs.
