What's new

follow-ups shorter than the first attack, that's why we have whiffing issues

I know there are cases where certain attacks ARE bugged and inconsistent, and they should be hitting/not hitting at certain ranges. But I really don't think that this is one of those cases.

The second hit whiffed because it should have. If you could get guaranteed follow-ups off of your advancing mid at that range (where it SHOULD whiff), then that would be some major BS. At least with short range follow-ups. If you do a long range poke then follow-up with a close range attack, then it SHOULD whiff.

It looks like you can use F2 as a long-range poke and maybe cancel into some specials. But the F2,1,3 string looks like it was meant to be done at closer ranges. There's nothing wrong with that.

How is that not anything but "working as intended"? 9 times outta 10 normal move hitboxes tend to be pretty literal, how is this inconsistent or a bug?

Do we even know if there's a separate part of the string that also involves a long chain? At all?

Kung Jin had this with his overhead string, and it was a legitimate matchup tactic that no one really had problems with. What's the difference?

From what I can see, the second hit whiffed because it should have whiffed.

I don't recall it ever being a gaurantee that first hit means every single option afterwards will hit.

Sonya's 121 middle hit whiffs on block at max range.

Its a legitimate way to balance a string.
Tony you been on TYM for a minute & your a pretty level-headed guy, so going to say this because you probably can take it :

There's a lot stupid going on in your post bro clean that shit up .
