Fut-SEAS....OF BLOOD!
I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to the Justice League trailer tomorrow. I'm hoping to see footage of the Big Bad Threat, and some action to hold us off until opening night.

While we're on the subject of the Extended Universe, I have a few questions for you

1) Which pictures are you most looking forward to? (Out of: Wonder Woman, Flash, Black Adam, Cyborg, Justice League, The Battfleck film, Gotham City Sirens, and any I may have missed).

Personally, It's WoWo for me. It's a period piece, with a realistic take on WWI, but with superhero and magical elements thrown in.

2) How would you rate all of the DCEU movies so far? (Out of: Batman v. Superman, Man of Steel, Suicide Squad and any I may have missed.)

Finally 3) What direction would you like to see the DCEU to take?

I'm always hype for them but they seem to come out lackluster tbh, last one I really enjoyed was Dark Knight.
MoS and DKR were decent but had some moments/elements that bugged me or made them boring at some points but they're good overall.
BvS and SS were crazy overhyped and ended up being clusterfucks that were ok for a one time watch but disappointing when you look back at them. I don't know how they managed to fuck up such amazing concepts and ideas where the trailers were so much better than the end result.. maybe they showed too much? too many cutout scenes? Marvel too OP that they keep trying to change the movies to match?
idk but I hope that they get it together and these upcoming movies turn out to be worth the wait.

I'm sure this thread will lead to lots of joy and positivity.
1) Which pictures are you most looking forward to?
The Batman and Green Lantern Corps, if the latter ever even happens.
2) How would you rate all of the DCEU movies so far?
MOS: 8.5/10
BvS (Ultimate Edition): 8/10, although I still wish it would've turned out differently.
SS: 5/10 for the moment, but I haven't seen it since it came out. Biggest disappointment in years.
3) What direction would you like to see the DCEU to take?
One where they stop worrying about tone and thinking everything will be fine if they just lighten up a bit. Nobody will complain about "grimdark" or whatever if the scripts are better.

It is better this way
1.
Batman or Nightwing. Batman movies have done a lot of things but weirdly enough no expansion on the Bat family. Looking forward to seeing a Dick Grayson around, and possibly even a Tim Drake, Barbara Gordon, Jason Todd, or Damian Wayne.

2.
Man of Steel: 8/10. Not sure why it gets so much hate, I like Henry Cavill as Superman, Micheal Shannon was great as Zod. You could root for Superman and at the same time understand Zod. Russel Crowe was great as Jor El also. The plot wasn't amazing but jeez I can't see how it was a terrible movie by any stretch.

BvS Ulitmate Edition: 6.5/10. This is just two separate movies straight up. It's a pretty cool Batman movie and a slow emo Superman movie. It has a 6.5 for me because it has really high highs and really low lows. Lex Luthor was absolutely fucking awful. Once again, Henry Cavill was good as Superman, the character was just abused and poorly written for the majority of this movie. Ben Affleck was awesome as Batman, Alfred was awesome, all the Batman elements were spot on. This also gives us a new Batman then we are used to seeing cinematically, more world weary and paranoid even by Batman standards. The reason it's not up to a 7 is because Lex sucked, the Lois Lane subplot was boring as fuck, the political stuff tried to be edgy but was just boring. It's pathetic that a legitimate arguement could be made that Lois is more of a major character than Superman in this movie. Buuuut it's not lower than a 6 because you'd be crazy to say that Batman wasn't badass, that the Batmobile scene wasn't fucking cool, that the Batman can Superman fight wasn't cool, that Batman in the warehouse wasn't one of the best comic book to film scenes EVER, and that Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman working together to defeat Doomsday isn't awesome. So it did have some stuff going for it. I'm actually way less harsh on it if I pretend it's a Batman movie and not meant to be a shared Batman/Superman movie.

Suicide Squad: 5/10. Did nothing special. Deadshot and Harley were cool enough I guess, it was alright just nothing stands out. Difference between this and BvS is this movie is just meh throughout and BvS did have moments of genuine quality although bogged down with other weird shit.

3.
Whatever gives the creators the time and freedom they need to make a good movie. These are talented directors and actors, and it's a shame they have to spend so much time setting up the next movie instead of making the movie they were actually inspired to make. Geoff Johns is one of the best Justice League writers from his time in the New 52, and he has become pretty heavily involved in these movies, so I'm still optimistic.

@Spinky : Joy and positivity? One can only hope. :)

As far as a Lantern movie, the last I heard, it is in the works, and Jordan will be sharing the spotlight with Stewart.I imagine we'd see the Corps in that film, but who's to say if that will lead to a Lantern Corps movie?

@TrulyAmiracle: I think DKR fell victim to two things. One was fan rage over the Bane changes, and the other was the sin of following the beloved Dark Knight. DK was so good that I believe people walked into DKR with unreasonable expectations. It's ironic to think that, the Nolan films aren't a part of this new DCEU, but they're all more successful than any of the things DC has put together since.

@Dankster Morgan: I've only ever seen the BvS ultimate edition, and I wonder how I would think differently if I had only seen the theatrical cut. From what I hear it's mad confusing. Anyway, if I had to rate it, I'd say 6/10. Regarding Luthor, it took me half the movie to really appreciate him. Like Bane, that version is significantly different from the one I'm familiar with, so it took some time to get used to.The same goes for the brutal (and lethal) Frank Miller style Batman. At some point though,I was able to put my expectations aside, and appreciate them all as Alt versions.

Re: Suicide Squad: 5/10. While I definitely agree that it could have been better, I didn't hate it in the theatre. To me, it was a ''popcorn flick'', It didn't have a ton of substance but it was fun at times. My main criticisms would be that Joker didn't do enough to justify his inclusion, and the flashy, comic book text sequences were jarring to me, personally.

Grace is a YouTube movie and trailer critic with friends in Hollywood. Recently, she broke down the latest JL trailer.

Do you agree? Disagree? What did you think of the trailer overall?

wouldn't know. She is so terrible that it amazes she is so popular. Her videos are the poster child for everything wrong with social media critics, more interested in clicks than actually contributing to the earth. She is cancer.

Ouch! lul

Wasn't expecting that reaction. ::Shrug::

If you want to explain what's "wrong with social media critics" feel free to do so. I recently discovered her channel because she reviewed a lot of the Injustice 2 character trailers coming out. Aaaand , INJ2 sparked renewed interest in the DCEU, so there you go. Personally, I like hearing her POV, because most of the videos you see on YouTube, regarding DC games and movies, are cheesing fanboy (or fangirl) gushing reactions. It's harder to find videos that look at them critically.

Speaking of which, If any of you guys have any fav videos or articles relating to the DCEU, feel free to post them here and discuss!

Your mind tricks won't harm me!!!
Also, I am curious how Wonder Woman will do at the box office.
(has there been a female lead action movies that rivals a male counterpart) TombRaider????

Whom do you guys think DC actually believes WonderWoman fanbase is-
Horny teenage boys?
young girls?
feminist?
gay fan base?
def. not straight males - if so her book sales would be higher and she would be able to support several titles, correct?

I personally love the character and i am very happy with the direction DC has taken her rebirth title . So i hope the movie does well.

Well, there are a number of other examples. The Resident Evil series, starring Milla Jovovich, and the Underworld movie series with Kate Beckinsale as Selene. Off the top of my head, the only other female-lead superhero film I can think of is Catwoman, with Halle Berry, and that didn't go so well. XD

But that movie wasn't that great. I'm hoping WoWo is awesome (the trailers have me expecting great things), and if it is, then it deserves every dollar.

So do I. In fact, the whole DCEU needs a shot in the arm. I doubt there are many fans that would disagree. As far as the comics, I haven't read mainstream comics for years, but it's my understanding that the majority of the fan base IS white males (from an early teen age to late thirties, maybe?), In that particular case, titles starring women or minorities will sell less. It's a fact of life. However, movie audiences are much bigger and much more diverse, so there is a good chance that WoWo can blaze into her own film franchise and be really successful.

Hell, if Wesley Snipes can do it as Blade, Gal Gadot can do it as Diana.

Pretty sure he is but they are leaving that up as a surprise.
Yes. Superman will probably be in the third act of the film. They're just keeping a lid on it.

It is a common misconception that comics are only read by strait caucasian males. Females make up over 46% of comic sales is the actual stats form 2016 for example.

As for WW.. she is the star of a heap of "several titles". She is in every major event as she is part of the DC Trinity (Soups, Batman and WW) and as a tent pole character she pops up all the time, in pretty any DCU comic.

She has her main book which is a bi-monthly running 2 completely different stories and plot arcs at once. So the book at the 1st of the moth is 1 plot, 2nd book contoniues the other plot. These are considered by the fans to be basically 2 different titles, they even take place in different time periods of her life.

She is also in Justice League and Trinity as well as already in 2017 having a major graphic novel out by Grant Morrison and more planned. In fact the only other 2 that are in more ongoing titles is Superman and Batman.

Not sure why you think strait men would not like her.. I would have assume the opposite. I'm a strait man for example lol.

I have a comic blog if you want to check it out.. I haven't done much this year though. So it is missing Logan which I think deserves discussion.

Is superman not in this JL movie? :(
I would say chance of Superman is 100%. The real question is if he is going to be in the black suit and have the super mullet.

Quick Note - In a film this big it is hard to avoid spoilers. I do not mind people guessing but please no images in the thread or talking about stuff that are clearly spoilers. It is pretty hard to avoid all the films getting ruined.

A comic blog huh?

Cool. Tell you what... If you cover any of the DCEU movies specifically, or any related comics (tie-in, prequel comics, or comics that inspired plotlines for example) why don't you direct link us to that blog post/article? You might also want to copy and paste the first few paragraphs as an introduction before you post the link (continue reading here). Something like that.

I 100% agree. This thread needs to be Spoiler Free. I think the best thing would be, for whoever sees the movie first, to post a Spoiler Discussion thread for each, individual movie.

Looks like Joss Whedon has been confirmed to helm a Batgirl solo movie in the DCEU.

Excited fan comments by Jaeroar below.
