Online dropping combos

New here been playing a lot Of MKX online with Raiden Thunder God.
One thing I have noticed is that I cant seem to do as many combos online then I would offline.
My connection seems okay, Download speed 50mbps, upload speed 10mbps.
Does anyone else have this problem I heard that not long ago the net code was unbearable to do any combos.
Should I keep an eye on the ping while I'm playing as well to get an idea of the lag.

Make sure when you're practising offline that you have the 3 frame delay enabled in your options. It might not seem like much but it will help you stay consistent in your execution when you get online.

I take it that will give you the same feel as playing online so I can get the timing down better.
I always seem to find superman hard to do as a combo ender online so using this will hopefully perfect my execution.

Another thing could be the muscle memory. It's the muscle memory you'll need to improve to make your combos doable. The ping is another story.

I play TG Raiden as my 2nd main and I can do the LRC just fine even online, which is the hardest as fuck RC online, because there's a high possibility to miss the RC, and thus drop the combos midway.

If you have problem with the ping, I would suggest that you find anyone with 50ms and lower, or the green color. The greater the ping is, the more unbearable the online game is.

Good luck.

You can and will get used to it, but do you want to?
Unless you can maintain your offline focus - or God forbid will never play offline - there is really not a lot of point to learning online if you can play offline just fine with your friends.

When my connection was really bad I use to just play against the AI on hard but always seemed to beat the AI which got boring after a while and I don't have any friends to play against as they all have no interest in fighting games.
I find playing online is better as you have to be more strategic to adapt to the other player style and adds ore fun to the game.

In this day and age, this could not be more wrong

In my experience, it's common for newer/ish players (Dunno how long you've been playing) to have nerves playing real opponents online. They open someone up and get them in a combo, get hyped and end up inputting everything too fast and dropping their combos. It's hard to try and give a diagnosis over a forum instead of actually watching you play, but I'm saying that's also something to consider. It could be something as simple as just taking a breath and slowing your inputs down a bit. Don't overcompensate for the ping times.

Just keep playing and it'll get better , I live in Saudi Arabia and regularly played people from the UK and Europe, even in the old netcode, I landed all of my bnbs/marksman gcs (and cancels in general ) almost constantly because of how much I was used to it.

Where do you live? A lot of people here have mutual country that we live and play together for fun/training/competition. If you reveal your country, you might find someone who would love to play with you.

I live in the UK, Nottingham to be exact.
I had a look at locals nearby but every one seems to be for SFV.

Nottingham, eh? And I see that they're for SFV.

I remember that the twins (Ketchup and Mustard), colby1989 (can't remember his numbers) and A F0xy Grampa are from UK.

Yh its seem SFV is more popular. I do love SFV but in many ways I do prefer Nether realm games.
Do you lot use the input delay feature enabled to get the timing down better when practicing in training mode?
Never noticed the feature and was wondering what your thoughts are on it.

Well, it depends of everyone's fancies.

Nah, we just practice with the offline first thing to get used with the combos, otherwise we tend to drop them in online. It's just a matter of time to get used with the lag there and the combos being doable in the muscle memory.

Even Tom Brady dropped the combos there. I, also, dropped the combos due of not playing MKXL for a while lately.

Eyy that depends my buddy never played online ever for ki since he wanted to keep his tech, and he did very well (top 16) for this first run at a tournament they only thing was he has a very experience tourney player as his offline opponent lol so i guess that's not the norm
