NOBLE I DRAGON IN NEUTRAL

After a long hiatus, the neutral series has finally returned.

It can be said without question that Dragon has been a consistent placer in the MKX tournament scene. Acquiring multiple top 8s in tournaments such as KIT 2017, NEC 2016, Summer Jam X, and Evo 2016 there was always one primary issue: Sonic Fox. His rival had time and time again gatekept and defeated him in tournament, proving to be his demon until recently. With Dragon clinching Final Round 20 and achieving a critical victory in his fighting game career, we now take a look at his neutral game, as well as punishment and pressure. All the best to Dragon, and hoping he continues his strong showing in the NRS scene.

Including the poll shown above, I plan to do an injustice throwback neutral series thread. Not exactly sure when, but expect it in the near future.

Delayed wakeup/Punish???

Round opener: Hellsparks conversion followed by a d2 antiair

Efficient Delayed wakeup

Another great delayed wakeup, and jump to avoid gernade pressure

Patience in neutral followed by beautiful reaction to grenade toss

Jump normal into air fan to bait anti air, followed by good space control

Delayed armor uppercut, combo into corner position and hard knockdown

Great mobility and wakeup under pressure

Bait on anti-air + pressure

Utilizing plus frames (don't press buttons)

Space control, good break out of pressure

Catching the air dash by Sector, corner position combo in HKD

A well timed jump by Dragon or a mistimed anti-air by Sonic (???)

Advancing string to avoid air missiles + d1*DP (the "Dragon special")

Full screen conversion into float grab setup (Atai tech)

Insane punish on (???) into teleport. Sonic had used this to blow up Dragon neutral ducking the string

D4 checks in neutral + beautiful teleport to avoid missile

Anti-air hell sparks (up close done at a risky position)

Footsies with hell sparks (whiff punish galore)

Opening d4 hellspark

Walk forward into hell sparks in neutral (caught Sonic sleeping)

d1 into delayed overhead to bait a button press (or bait of teching a throw)

I'm not sure what happened, but non of the gifs I added are showing up for me. I was almost complete too. Is this happening for anyone else, or is it just my end?
 
Also, based on the poll, Semiij will be the next player in the neutral series. I just need to figure out what the hell is going on so that this doesn't happen again. :(
