General/Other - Shinnok Shinnok General Discussion Thread

Does MB shoulder AA for a combo? i'd assume it does.
Now shoulder can be that crazy "cover everything move" that you can just throw out whenever you feel like it if you have a bar of meter.

Still want to see some high level Shinnok play from Woundcowboy or whoever...

Keep in mind that on block, the MB shoulder launcher is back dashable. That said it's still safe outside of armored reversals, and there's the mind game there of not even burning the meter so they either back dash, block or go for an armored reversal which is NOT the optimal punish and they use a bar of meter. Not to mention you can essentially make it an armored launcher for 2 bars if you MB the initial shoulder.

No armor on scepter slam hurts Boneshaper, but it's not that bad of a nerf considering armored launchers were universally nerfed.

Necromancer is better but not top tier in my opinion. Hard to say for sure this soon after the patch, but Necro still has the same issues. It definitely is for sure better and possibly viable now though. Amulet Strike buff helps a lot.

@cR WoundCowboy I need your advice with the Bone shaper Shinnok match up vs Sektor (Ketchup)

I had no idea what to do I got bodied by him and he said last time you fought him, you bodied him 5-1. Any tips for that match up and against Ketchup in general ??

Just try to stay in his face, use the armored shoulder to counterzone and get a knockdown. His armor isn't threatening. Alternatively you could try necro since shinnok trades very well, just remember to alternate bone hands spam with teleport baits.

Ok cheers ! I have tried to avoid necro (just not a fan of his flick) but why not apparently he is better

Well done at SCR... so is Bone shaper is still the best variation?

It's all so very confusing.
Anyone have any high level Bone Shaper vids to link? There are a ton on YouTube of Wound and such, but I cant seem to find anything since the last patch.. Id like to find newer stuff.. He has me really interested and Im trying to put together a little spec sheet for him.

It just dawned on me, I need an expert Shinnok main on this but I'm at work and can't lab it.... Can imposter IA Tele after consuming a projectile from full screen into punish? (Using Amulet or Ex)

Amulet has quite a bit of recovery on it, more than most projectiles so I doubt it.
I've been trying to be real swaggy lately online if I see them about to throw a projectile I IA Tele but I thought it'd be cool, Also if any of you are on Xbox I'm down for some sets I'll be off work in two hours or so

Despite that I found a new gimmick for those ppl online trying to fuzy block against imposter.
It is a small combo but it gets them into micicry.
JIP(2) Because it's more +
So :JIP-IA Tele~B4-DB1 (It's a double OH)
Works on most characters, you want to always have their move cause your base combos and upercut and grab are stronger.

That might work online but offline there is about 30 frames between Jip and tele into b4. And there is about 7 frames between Jip and the f4 ( the low option). There is plenty of time to block low after a Jip and then stand up in time when you see Impostor disappear. Even doing a ji2 xx tele, ji1 is a closer overhead, overhead but still is about 24 frames apart. The best way to avoid fuzzying after a Jip if you going for a mix up is to do Jip straight into either b3 or the delayed f4.

Someone please tell me how the damage buff works for mimicry?
 
Yes it's unblockable. You can run or backdash on reaction to Shinnok raising his arm and if they didn't predict what you were going to do correctly it'll whiff.
I would like to ask you a question about bone shaper, after connecting diety(f22+L1), you have a restand/reset, what normal move do you suggest I use to follow that is cancellable into db2, df2, bf3 or bf1, thanks for your time
