Seems like some moves with long recovery when hitting an opponent recovering from a knockdown at punishable on hit. I can't be 100% certain but it seems like if shugoki gets a knockdown from a throw or revenge parry, and does a fully charged heavy, the victim gets a free guard break on shugoki. Can't do much if you're out of stamina, but should be able to throw him off a cliff if you're close, lol

I agree. Defense is to strong in this game and it seems Warden and Pk are the only ones who can deal with it.
I disagree. There are so many games where players stick to this or that and they remain mostly safe. In this game, everything has a counter. Its not perfect, but the only thing I would do is add a mechanic for avoiding hazards - like a last ditch fight for your life mechanic where they need to hit you into it by grab or hit and the defender can counter if he reacts correctly - or make it so you slip out unless you have less that 1/3 health.

Anyone else have red NAT for no apparent reason?
Lol is that why i was able to play pvp with a red NAT? I usually have to wait until mine turns yellow XD

They're doing emergency maintenance right now. I saw that while i was fighting and they cut off the servers in the last round :(

Can I not throw tech multiple times in a row? Just fought this Orochi who kept doing slide slash or grab and I would tech the 1st grab but then when I try to tech it again it wont let me. Then hell just do light light over after he does it I dont understand.

No you can tech as many times as you want in a row just make sure your not trying to tech too fast or otherwise itll lock you out and youll get hit.

How is the netcode in this game? When I first saw trailers for the game about 9 months back I was like where do I throw my money, but I haven't kept up with the game since. Also what edition of the game should I get? The iron packs on the PSN store look suspicious, I really don't feel like starting another "Grind a fuckton or pay to win" game. I'll maybe practice the game some and sandbag here and there, but I don't want to get into anymore "farm'n'grind" stuff.

Yo 2v2's where the opponent isn't honorable and ganks and tries to constantly throw your of is...

... actually amazing. It's super hilarious and fun, especially since they are trying so hard to win and I'm just having fun and enjoying it all. Seriously, it's very challenging and fun to try to win, and hilarious when someone gets tossed off the edge.

I dig it.

So does that mean for every character the switching stance is 4 frames (console)?
Also is this for just changing the stance or does it take 4 frames to actually block on another side?
So many questions, did you just test this/find this out or was this common knowledge?
This is huge and no ones talking about it.
... actually there is a post on the competitive reddit saying that all characters can block within the same 8f (4f on console) time window unsless they haven't spammed stance switches before. spamming causes some "penalty frames". imho this makes sense.

anyone playing on pc notice complete shit lag since they "fixed" the "Server" issue they had?>? i have green nat but all my enemies are yellow or red always....it feels terrible...this was about 2 hours ago.

Edit: also queue times for anything other than duels is atrocious. i waited 5 minutes to get into a skirmish and then 3 of 8 ppl left in the game, all on my team left, leaving me all alone =(

btw does anyone understand the dodge mechanics in detail?

- are there any invincible frames?
- is it better to dodge towards or away from an attack?

i'm not an expert...but side attacks u dodge toward, overheads u dodge side or away(but it all depends on the range and type of attacks the hero u are facing can do)...the disadvantage of dodging is if they hit u with guardbreaker during ur dodge u will not be able to counter guard break.

Because best character in a balanced game=Nerf him instead of buffing the others?
Frankly the entire cast is stupid underpowered. I'd love to see more people on wardens level rather than making everyone trash. The only thing I'd touch on warden is making a whiffed shoulder bash punishable (because whiffs in general should be punished).

It sorta falls apart once people get better. Certain classes have very little counterplay in 2v1, basically anyone with a good unblockable, and you wind up with very little counterplay, especially if your teammate is a slower class.

When someone ganks me or throws me into a stage hazard in 2v2, the gloves come off real fast. You best believe you're going into that pit my friend. i will do everything in my power to make you feel like you got cheated. I love when people try so hard to throw me into a hazard only for me to turn it around on them, and then they spam "Wow!" in chat.

Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
I finally picked up the game and got destroyed really hard but it's by far the most interesting fighter I've played in a really long time.

I also find it perfect for the elite controller too. Now I'm off the study how the game works.

2v1s get hype.

I remember at one point I was fighting I think beserker + Lawbringer and my partner died so the lawbringer tried to spear gank me.
I countered him by doing a guard break on my current opponent and throwing him back, then swapping targets to him while he was mid-run and smacking him with the Oni hug for an insta-kill.
Used his health totals to finish off my opponent. I felt like a true monster.

But that was only one time where I didn't wind up getting flag charged off of a ledge.

yea I saw that later, its some info that is very good to know

There are invincible frames so dodging to either side can work but I believe its better if you dodge to the side the move is coming from so you dont get hit by the later active frames.

God I hate people like this they just ruin the fun.
The entire time they try to actively avoid fighting and try to just piss you off with their taunt spam and gb spam.
All it takes is to miss 1 out of 200 counter gbs and you're dead and watching their taunt spam and theyll only play you once because people will just adjust and also they dont want to play on a map that you can choose.
These people ruin 2v2s for me
