You all want hype, don't you? Noteworthy, exciting as fuck, game changing battles of ultimate destiny?
Then someone get those two on the horn, and the fight will do the rest of the talking.

Nobody thought Curbo was shit until he showed up.
Nobody knew who Big D was until he came to Final Round and made shaman believers of us all.

After playing the i2 beta and playing some of the mkx newcomers I realized how neutral heavy the game is. It plays like a weird mix of mk9 and injustice 1. I was able to beat a lot of players on that alone. So I think if mkx was their first game they'll struggle a lot with the pace and spacing of this game. Who knows though, I'm more excited to see more new players
I prefer playing games slower so it fit me quite nicely. Just need to get my spacing down and I think i will do quite well!

Choice A doesn't exist, so scratch that off.

Choice B makes no sense since if those players are still playing MK9, they're not playing anything else and curse everything else that Netherrealm has made. Forever stuck in the past where they belong.

Choice C up to a certain extent...like the people that actually went to tournaments and not the online warriors. Voted here.

Choice D I predict that these players will have a rude awakening and will struggle. Try playing a game without relying on 50-50's.

Choice E doesn't exist yet. No explanation needed.

Choice F is a copout option. I shouldn't have to explain this either.
Choice A does exist, literally gave you a list of players that fit the bill but apparently you have selective reading problems.

Choice B- How many people who were successful in MK9 are still playing MK9? Give me names instead of saying "They're still playing it bruh"

Choice C- that's fucking implied.

Choice D- For some of them it will be but others it won't be too much of a "rude awakening" as much as it'll be a bit weird to adjust to.

Choice E- IT'S GOING TO EXIST WHEN THE GAME COMES OUT. He means players that Injustice 2 will be their first NRS title so you actually are going to have to explain yourself if you don't want to come across as...well just plain wrong.

Choice F- Who actually gives a fuck if it's a cop out choice? If you don't like it, don't pick it. Otherwise, stop.

So many things wrong with this post, but I'm too unmotivated to point them out.

i really would like to know who in here join the mk comunity before the mk9 era. really good memories from that era. there was not tournaments but a lot of competition
I miss it. When everything was still kinda brand new.
I'm in the process of trying to maybe get the VSM band back together.
Or at the very least seek out the OG's such as yourself and train my ass off.
I live in the Bronx now, so the more of us are gathered and ready to wreck shit, the better.

This is a pure fun thread. So for the first year MKX was pretty much dominated by around the same 10 players. Then the second year MKX is dominated by a new set of 10 players (aside from Sonic). This means current MKX for a year so far has been pretty much been run by around the same 10 top dogs / players in top eights every event. Do you guys think it's going to be the same players dominating in Injustice 2? Or will it be the case for the first year of the game, and then be a new top 10 players dominating the second year? Place your bets / predictions now.

For fun (optional) I made some groups of players that started playing competitively in different eras. Choose which group of players you think will dominate in Injustice 2:

A) It'll be super old pre-MK9 era players (Pig of the Hut, REO, m2dave, Detroitballn, Tom Brady, Noobe, Slips, P2W, etc.)

B) It'll be MK9 players (Sonic, Scar, PL, f0xy, Forever King, Red Raptor, DJT, MIT, Madzin, Tyrant, WoundCowboy, Big D, etc.)

C) It'll be Injustice 1 players (Jupiter, Theo, Slayer, HoneyBee, Biohazard, Rico, KDZ, Whiteboi, Saltface, etc.

D) It'll be MKX players (Hayatei, Dragon, Semiij, Tekken Master, Illusions, Tweedy, Destroyer, Toxin, SylverRye, etc.)

E) It'll be completely brand new Injustice 2 players (???, ???, ???, ???, ???, ???, ???, ???, ???, etc.)

F) It'll be a mix of players from all eras.

If you win this prediction you get to bump this thread a year or two from now and look godly with props.
There seems to be different players that do well in the early life cycle of a fighting game, when things are new, there is hidden tech to mine and exploit, things are less balanced, etc., versus a later life cycle of the game after numerous balance patches and when the MUs are better understood. Some, of course, can manage to do very well in both, like Sonic.

Out of "A" I would expect REO to do well at EVO 2017 because he is great at picking out dirt to use in the early life of a game. I would also say that Chris G is one who fits in the category of being able to pick up a fighting game he's never played before and do 20 move combos out of the gate. It is hard to count out Pig, particularly if he finds a character that works for him, and Detroitballn is in the mix.

"B" has a lot of great players that have gone through MK9, IGAU, and MKX. Obviously Sonic. Forever King has been a very consistently good player throughout multiple games, doing well at multiple EVOs in all three games, early and late in the cycles. WoundCowboy is also a consistent placer like Forever King. BigD has been doing great lately. Of course, Tyrant, Scar, the T bros, and f0xy are all amazing, "B" is the strongest group when you have players that have done well in all 3 games, it bodes well for their chances in IGAU2. Michaelangelo is another star player I'd look to do well.

"C" also has some great players, and Slayer, HoneyBee, and Biohazard have shown their mettle in MKX as well. The EMP guys are great too.

I don't know as much about the "D" group. I have no specific reason to think that they won't continue to do well, but doing well in EVO 2016 isn't the same as doing well in multiple EVOs like the other groups have. There have been players that did well in one EVO and never again. I do think players like Dragon and Tekken Master are extremely good. I don't know enough about the new crop to predict who will be able to translate doing well in the later life cycle of MKX into doing well in the early life cycle of IGAU2.

For "E" there will inevitably be some new faces. For EVO 2017 and the early life cycle of IGAU2 there will be some players from other games in the FGC that come over to IGAU2 to go for the prize money, like Balrog, KDZ, Alucard, and others. I'd predict most of the "E" faces in the early cycle will be players known in other FGs. There will probably be more new new faces at EVO 2018.

I think the real drama at EVO 2017 and in the early cycle tournaments will be Groups "A" - "D" (the NRS devotees) vs. "E" (the FGC poachers).

Wtf? @Pig Of The Hut werent you like 30 and took 2nd at EVO 2014?

The "old man reflexes" is bs lol. Keep up with the games and grind like you're supposed to.

If anything it's just that the older guys don't have as much time to put into the game as the younger guys. Simple as that

Also I don't pay attention to SF but aren't some of the best players older?
30 3rd place
32 2nd place

People are idiots about the age discussion and comes off "desperate"

i think this with the most lab time, better skill, reads and reactions and natural talent will be better. if u've a ton of stuff going on about you then take lab time outta the equation.
