The problem with HW's since the patch is unless you some godly execution, using the LC to bait or continue pressure is simply not rewarding enough since the stamina nerf. Previously a correct bait or bluff could then be confirmed into EX OH into midscreen, this just isn't possible anymore due to the distance required to run. However, going back to the godly execution statement, if you are to bluff and punish with frame perfect cancels into 3B2 without fault I would still consider this variation the best.

Yet, I was one of the few doing these confirms regularly and some starters where tough enough pre stamina overhaul. For example 123, 11, 23 all can become increasingly more difficult depending on spacing. The cancels do however remain very useful in corner situations.

In my opinion Wrestler and PU's tools out-weigh the potential benefits of HW's.

Lastly as a side note regarding the stand 3 and 4 talk. Both moves hit high and frame trap from nothing, maybe a raw point blank plasma but I doubt you're doing that. Because of this fact, if you're going to take the risk to give up your advantage for an option that carries the risk of being beat it makes much more sense to go for our safe overhead or low starter.

Only time i ddi stand 3 or stand 4 was from jump ins for the guaranteed pressure, chip, meter, etc.

But you can still 12~EX OH into f21, 11, f21~ender without running; connects on everyone from every cancel regardless of distance and allows for ~35%.

Condition them with unsafe EX OHs or +on block b2 held for a split second. :^)

Labbing d4~LC into stuff now, but it's gonna take time.

EDIT: Ok, if d4, small run b2 gets interrupted only by armor (wasn't able to poke with Sub's d1), then d4~LC b2 should jail.

Yeah, I can see stand 4 law cancel being used occasionally given the jailing follow ups catching people out in situations like this, but Paulo blessed us with 50/50's to make use of lol

I just do the 50/50 after the plus cancel. Cause why not.

Lol swag aside and optimal disclaimer aside from what i understand cancels actually scale the damage.

Good job although it was kinda terrible and cringe for me to watch because i just feel like - Jax, is this what you have become? Just a complete impractical mess :(

Just a quick note about a dead character of a dead game.

In case it's not known, Jax can punish Smoke every single time when he does string~smoke bomb. Regular/ Overhead dash punch as a reversal being that fast plus the fact that it elevates Jax's hitbox allows him to avoid the bomb and punish. For a bar, he gets full combo. And on reaction in some cases, since sometimes you don't even need to do it as a true reversal from the previous string. I think this is huge for this particular matchup, no safe 50/50s for Smoke here. (It doesn't work vs b3~exsmokebomb, but Jax seems to win in all the other cases)

Tested with Cassie's fast reversal, and the idea works in less situations (sometimes exflipkick is out of range, sometimes there is a trade, etc). Kung Lao reversal trades. Jax tech works every time. Feels like having armored ex overhead dash punch again:cool:

I was messing with Jax in training mode today and discovered that he can combo off a raw d2 in the corner using d1d2 to extend it which allows for a full combo. Maybe this has been discussed before but I was under the impression no one can combo of a raw d2 in this game. Quan chi can also follow up with a d1 in the corner off his d2 but I haven’t been able to get d1 into close rune yet for a full combo.
