I think a lot of companies don't mind if their servers can't handle the amout of people in the first week of the games release. Most people are pretty casual and will stop playing online after a few days of playing, that's why these companies are never "prepared" for lots of people not able to connect etc... It's not cost efficient to have all these servers up, running and requiring maintenance when there will be significantly less players next for most of the games life in the up coming year.

I have no evidence to back this up lul ha ha you read that all looool noob
It goes beyond just purchasing the game when it comes to AAA games. You could say "oh they already got your money so why would they care?" But games nowadays are also an investment. Purchasing the game is half of it. If I can't play on shitty servers why would I buy their dlc or promote their game in any way? Keeping the servers healthy is important man

get extra hype for waiting like, 2-3 months to play the beta

A couple days of being dragged through the mud on social media is apparently not enough motivation to adequately prep your server game.

Don't think there's a been a triple a release in years that wasn't "down" for most of its users day one, any genre.

If "for North America" is a real thing, this means region lock is back. C'mon NRS, not like this...

Diablo 3's launch was a disaster. Since it was online only, the majority of people who bought it couldn't even play it until a few days later.
