Everyone wants everyone to lose, nothing new.

Besides, the whole PS4 going into rest mode thing is due to him and Semiij too, if you dont desync before your match, this shit happens. You can turn around and look pissed off all you want, doesn't change the fact it's their fault.

For all you know it wasnt intentional, most likely due to another player that had been on stream trying to sync to another PS4 across the room. It's not the first time this has happened, and it isn't going to be the last.
And his 2nd match offline when he was on offence and suddenly the ps4 turned off? Coincidence? For me, a racist attack against a Brazilian dude.

And the "hilarious" reaction?

I don't know hardly anyone in the US personally that's racist against Brazilians. Not to say that they aren't out there, but I don't run across them much.

You hear some disparaging comments about people of Mexican descent, Indian descent, and African-American descent, but most people think Brazil is kind of cool. This is also due to people loving soccer, UFC, the beaches in Rio and Bossa Nova.

In addition to this, the FGC is like 50% minorities. Probably half the guys at Semij and Xinok's level or above have Puerto Rican, Dominican, Central American, African American, Middle Eastern, or East Asian etc. ancestry. Caucasian guys are usually the minority in Top 8 in every FGC community except Smash.

Anyway, I think it's a pretty big leap to assume this was an act of sheer racism. Not saying it's impossible, but the FGC is the one of the most welcoming gaming communities to people of all colors that I have ever seen.

Fist of all, Yes North America has it's race issues for sure. Not sure why, but for some reason the color or someone's skin offends somebody. Stupid to me, but I guess some people see it differently.

I have no idea what happened at KiT, so I cannot comment on the other situations than the PS4 being put to rest mode. Semiij to my best knowledge is Mexican, and Xinok is Brazilian? So they are both "non-american" Yes it happened at an REALLY unfortunate time for Xinok and may have been a HUGE break for Semiij, but that is all on the players, BOTH of them. They need to learn to delete the blue tooth devices before they play the tournament match. (This isn't either ones first tournament.)

If it is true that people are waiting for him to lose. Well umm, that happens when you are a named / good player. People wish Sonic to lose all of the time, people want to see Tweedy lose. They are both good players, but people want them to lose for totally different reasons. People want to see Gods fall, and people with loud mouths fall. Nothing new.

By no means and I saying that what happened to him wasn't directly directed to him because of his race, or where he is from. People are idiots, people are ignorant. Would any of this be talked about if the players actually deleted the controllers? Who knows.
Yep, Xinok is Brazilian. And I heard from my buddy that those Americans treat in that ill manner even the Greeks. Those fellas are posing a disliking threat to those non-Americans. After this racism, I'm rethinking of going ever to America.

I'm one of those people who want Tweedy to lose, because of his big ego and his enormous mouth, but I'm not that low to put the game in rest mode like that fucker did. I respect the competitors in the same manner as I respect even my opponents in my martial arts sport.

The first time it wasn't deliberate but the second time it clearly was since he even went into rest mode but I agree with you it was 200% their fault since they didn't deaync the controllers even after their match was interrupted once

Why the hell is anyone saying this is racism? There is absolutely zero evidence to support that claim. Something fucked up happened. We don't know who did it. RASICM. Get a fucking life, the majority of the scene is very diverse.
It's just one guy clam down don't feed him

If a person feels offended by racism you think the best thing is to write it off and tell them it's not? Lol. You're missing the entire point. Unless you're going to break it down and explain it like @CrimsonShadow just did just don't comment, because you sound like a dick. I don't even care about said incident, but I hate to see people tell some one to "Just get over it" when it comes to issues like race. He doesn't have to get over it. His concerns are valid even if you personally don't agree.

It's a pretty shallow way of thinking to just assume that because this happened to Xinnok, in a situation he should have prevented himself, that it was 'racist attack'.

Explain why this doesnt happen to me, or Madzin, or Tekken Master and so on?
Desyncs m8.

What about when the same thing happens to American players? Which the % of occurrence is waaaaaaaaaaaay higher.

The first time it wasn't deliberate but the second time it clearly was since he even went into rest mode but I agree with you it was 200% their fault since they didn't deaync the controllers even after their match was interrupted once
Even on the 2nd time you can't guarantee its deliberate, theres so many consoles in a short range a wireless pad can connect to. What if the person was trying to log themselves out of ps4, but didnt know which ps4 they're on? It's only 1 button difference to put it into rest mode.

Besides, people still miss the point

NO DESYNC NO SYMPATHY

What do you want me to explain that hasn't been explained nothing showed that it was an act of racism this guy is just assuming and and I didn't see anyone treat Xinok differently at KIT race issues are nothing to laugh about and making stupid claims is IMO almost as stupid as doing something racist

Maybe I was not clear enough, English is not my 1st language, sorry.

During his offline game, the 2nd game, the system shut down, It ran out of energy, it was not a desync problem. Then, they were moved to another console, where the desync occurred.

I don´t want to argue here, just exposing my point. I truly respect every single opinion and I don´t want to spam this post.

Just saying that 2 things happened to Xinok, one online and one offline. Sorry if I sounded a bit agresive, but I feel that I needed to expose this here. Peace!

The assumption that somebody with a sync'ed controller messing with a stream setup (which happens all the time, to players of various ethnic backgrounds) is without a doubt a racist act, and shows that the NRS FGC is racist, doesn't make any sense.

That's like saying that people only get mad about MKX patches because Paulo is Brazilian.

I share many things of those commented by you.

I think what I lack is to see more seriousness of the organization. It was unfortunate to see and how many made fun of the situation.

A fight won in these circumstances is not victory to my point of view.

I hope these things do not happen. I always organize the tournaments on Xbox one and I do not remember these situations have happened.

I got really pissed off with that shit, Xinok spend a lot of money to try play with the best and that shit happens and that fucking Michaelangelo louding, makes me hating him more than ever now, there are only 2 controllers connected beside Xinok and Semiiji, and some folks told that Destroyer is the funny one who did that shit, he must be banned from major for a few months to learn where is his and that shitty Predator place !

Tweedy is one malicious person.

I knew it was him this whole time.

What a shame. I'm going to unfriend him on snapchat, instagram, face book, twitter, and tinder!

BTW he's racist according his police record.

Can you please explain to me how this wasnt the fault of Semiij and Xinnok.

Its hurting my brain.

We'll burn you all—that is your fate!
How the fuck did racism even get involved in this. The incident could of happened to anyone. Dysnc the fucking controller its 2017. Not difficult. Do we have proof Racism is the reason. All we saw was the console turning off. Again could of happened to 2 randos and nobody would care. Also accusing people of turning off the console without any proof is fucked up just fucking stop.

The situation both sucks and is amusing. Remove the fucking controllers from the system.

I didn't ask anyone to just get over issues of race.

However, the assumption that somebody with a sync'ed controller messing with a stream setup (which happens all the time, to players of various ethnic backgrounds) is without a doubt a racist act, and shows that the NRS FGC is racist, doesn't make any sense.

Lol. I didn't mean for my post to come off like you said something wrong. I was actually applauding you for breaking down your explanation of the situation to make sense for the guy claiming he had an issue.

And to think that the very MKX game is a universal one with those fellas (black, white, asian, etc) with various names with them.

Liu Kang, Kung Jin and Kung Lao = China
Takeda and Kenshi Takahashi, and Scorpion = Japanese
Sonya Blade, Jax, Jaqui, Johnny Cage and Cassie Cage = Black and white Americans. Only Cassie's name is a Greek one, which comes from Cassandra (Κασσάνδρα), which in Ancient Greek means "Race of the Males".

etc.

And why do you think that even Johnny and the rest have had Brazilian clothes for a while?

BLAK FELOW
Even if it's not racism, it's a complete dick move. It looked pretty deliberate and that person should be banned from the fgc

This thread has turned into a complete shitshow. It's embarrassing to see people make claims of racism in this context. I watched that clip expecting to hear the commentators say something racist, or overhear someone in the crowd say something racist.

What happened to xinnok was a real bummer, and if it was done intentionally, which I've yet to see definitive evidence for, that person is a piece of shit. However, as has been pointed out, it's on the players themselves to desync controllers between sets. This happens at every single offline event. Every single one. And usually, it happens several times. There's all these "coaches" in the scene giving all this "insightful" advice mid set, when really they should be reminding their buddy or teammate to desync the fucking controllers.

When people make claims that someone was treated unfairly because of their race when nothing about the situation appeared racial in the least, it really serves to delegitimize people's actual experiences of racism. It pisses me off that it's just assumed that because something unfortunate happened to someone other than a white American male, it must have been motivated by racial prejudice.

The fgc is probably the most diverse genre of gaming. If you look at a list of he best 20 nrs gamers, how many of them are non-white? Over half? The fgc and nrs scene are incredibly tolerant, and fuck you for making this a race issue and playing it like the ultimate trump card. What if the person who allegedly did it was black, Asian, or Latino? Then is it still racism? The anti us/north American rhetoric in this thread makes me nauseous. There's even people in here bending over backwards to apologize for general racism that exists in this country. Racism absolutely exists, and it is far from an American exclusive problem. Racists are pieces of shit no question, but construing this situation as racial is an affront to logic, reason and is a total cheapshot and bullshit cop out.

Came to this thread for tourney hype and discussion about the sets, and instead we are discussing racism for absolutely no reason.

Looking forward to the top 8.
