Combo Video - Hellfire Optimal Vortex Combos

These are the optimal combos for Hellfire Scorpion's vortex. Doing Flame Aura early in combos allows Flame Aura to wear off just in time to use again after restanding the opponent. Ending combos with Scorpion's standing 3 makes it so that f4 jails and puts you at max range making f4 Flame Aura safe. There is still a gap after the f4, but if you think the opponent is going to armor out then you can do f4 EX Teleport and option select it to make the armor whiff.

For the 1 bar combos if you want to stay on the same side, you can do a forward dash then walk back slightly and do standing 3.

on somes char when you do the vortex the f4 does not make a gap. This shit suck vs liu but i guess it still a 50 50 huh? BTW would you call scorpion F4 reactable?

EDIT: by the gap i mean it dont make the aura hit weird like it does vs the rest of the cast

I just want to point out that the b3 combo in the OP's video no longer works due to the universal stamina change. I found a better, more reliable combo though which is:

b3 fbrc 1 Flame Aura 123 Teleport b2 run b12 Spear (pause) j2 3 30%

The removal of armored launchers means that the gap in f4 Flame Aura doesn't matter as much. If you think your opponent will armor the gap, you can do f4 EX Tele and OS it to make armor whiff and depending on the move you'll be able to punish it.

You should always go for vortex after the restand because 50/50s will always be better than pressure.

you can only do one dash/run cancel per combo. On block you can do run/dash cancels till ya stamina wont allowed it anymore. Also if im answering this right, Yes you can dash then cancel that dash to a run but i dont think thats what your asking

Nah you answered what I needed to know. I was asking if you could like do s3 fbdc 12 FBRC, but like you answered only one per combo. Even on block I think it's only one dash/cancel right?

Ok so basically as hellfire you never really need to use run cancels as you can do even more with dash cancels? I'm confused.
In a combo, if you try to do a second fireball cancel, Scorpion will just release the fireball as if it wasn't cancellable at all. Amount of fireball cancels on block is only governed by stamina.

214~FBRC is around +20 frames on block (dunno the exact number), so it jails into many of his moves = the only option the opponent has is to block. Costs a lot of stamina.
214~FBDC on the other hand is +3 frames on block = despite you having a frame advantage, opponent can backdash, jump out, armor through your pressure or contest your +3 with a fast move of their own, etc. Costs a bit of stamina.

Hopefully this eliminates your confusion.

Found a combo off of F4 x Ex Spear that doesn't involve FA:
F4 x EX Spear, Step Forward NJP, JI3 x Teleport, B2, B32F2.
This gets 30% and a safe/plus FA meaty. The reason for this combo is that a lot of people block low when you use your FA at the end of combos to prevent a sneaky low-reset (Assuming the OH isn't an option due to FA being active). You could also spend the bar on hit-confirming EX Teleport for more damage but this is an easier alternative.

Added F4 fbrc combos. I think at the highest level Scorpion needs to be able to do F4 fbrc s3 consistently and mix it up with F4 Flame Aura. Then when they're afraid of aura you can do F4 fbrc into whatever on block.

Just saw this post wow. It depends on how well your opponent can react. I believe at the highest level F4 is reactable 100% of the time. If I think they can react to it, I'll try to do some weird reset at the end of my combo like j1 b3/f4 or f4 fbrc b3/f4. Or just mix with f2/throw.

What about f4 214? if not mistaken its a harder link. F4 FBRC 21 flame aura 214 Teleport s1 rc 21 spear jump over s3 or f4 FBRC 214 teleport 1 rc 21 spear, jip 2 F4 flame aura s3
