Backdash when:
- Midscreen you want to avoid the end of an advancing string that's coming from a distance, and you have your own means to whiffpunish.
- Midscreen there is a gap in a string and you want to gain space rather than advance with armour.
- Midscreen somebody's ending a string in a fast projectile or a move that will whiff if you input on-point backdash.
- Midscreen want to teach the opponent that you'll move back and he can push buttons then you blow them up for the attained habit.
- The corner in situations like that video. Remember that backdash has recovery frames so in the corner you have to make sure what you backdash against has a longer recovery.

Backdash has invincibility frames, very few though. Not sure how many in this game anymore, somebody else will tell you.

There it is...
helps with certain pressure stings like cassies b124 and as mentioned above errons gunshots. You use it to punish johnnys np and you can get out of shinnocks stupid mb bullshit.

but certain characters just dont try it.

Kenshi, bo rai cho etc pretty sure. you're more negative backdashing the gap on cassies b124 than if you'd blocked lol.

If you're kano just fucking spam that shit

Same with Quan, Triborg and somewhat true with Tremor (Tremor has an underappreciated backdash imo)

Christ TYM....
players who use a character with good backdash don't ask this question. TC didn't mention character, so to start tutoring on hypothetical situations is less helpful than what I wrote. And then again, your post was even less helpful.

So don't edit posts as you please, you really mess up the content

anything else?

You can use the backdash on some occasions to avoid being hit.

Usually, as GM Sub Zero I use the backdash against my opponents, who use weapons (Jason, Leatherface), to avoid the first hit at the start of the match.
