I don't think it has anything to do with the super freeze. He was just using the super freeze to freeze the game so you could see the normals he was kara canceling. He found a situation where he could freeze the game while being +1, then showed how he could kara cancel Chun's s.LK or her cr.MP into super.

I don't know for sure if you can cancel into anything but I've heard of situations where you could kara cancel into throws to get more tick throw options so this would support that. More testing is probably needed.

So, watch this video at about 50 seconds where Danke talks about plinking into throw to get a proper meaty timing. I even paused the video while watching at 25% speed and you can clearly see the st.LK startup but then gets kara cancelled into regular throw:

Maybe in season 2 the game will be more balanced and we'll actually see some Ibuki use. I know the delusional among us that are using Top 5 characters try their hardest to make you believe there is nothing wrong with the game right now, and it's perfectly balanced but let's be serious here..

I never said it wasn't intended. I remember Ken, Sagat, and Yang had some pretty useful kara cancels in IV. We're just trying to figure out how it works in V.

As far as we know, you can kara normals into throw and CA. I haven't seen anyone show any others like v-skill and v-trigger but I'm not saying you're wrong. I just haven't seen it yet.

Can someone explain why Juris target combo only hits standing when Ken and Cammys hit crouching, can be linked into and do more damage anyway? Nothing makes sense in this game

I've already complained about this but someone may have forgotten

Because it is a high attack like Zangief HK
EDIT: I am wrong the DLC curse continues lol

same reason ryus target combo whiffs on crouching and requires a vtrigger to combo out of.

It's all so very confusing.
cammy and ken have always relied heavily on throws. Remember kens kara throws? The grapplers in this game are fine. Mika is very good, Alex is decent, Laura is meh, and giefs got some problems. Vega, necalli, and birdie arent a bad batch of characters either.

Also, what grapplers aren't big on resets and setups? That's their whole deal.

Vega is in a great spot as a weird grappler hybrid. he suffers from shit AAs and no reversal, but the no reversal is just an engine issue (I feel like the divide between having one and not is a little *too* much) and shit AAs.. well, meh. I feel like Vega wasnt designed to AA so much as challenge *in* the air. His air to air game is fantastic. J.mp is an interesting button, along with air throw of course. Sometimes i feel like his wall dive should be a little more responsive - allowing me to challenge someone just jump-normalling me on reaction but, meh. It is what it is. At least when I EX it.. But SFV isnt a reaction based game really, so it hurts him quite a bit when people who understand *how* to jump, do..

Vega as a grappler.. Its interesting.. I dont see anyone really playing him with his command grab at the forefront of his offense and I can understand why, BUT, I think its still extremely effective if done right. Its something Ive been experimenting with on occasion.. Im bad so its whatever, but he has a lot of advantage off his jabs and they work well as GTFO of me buttons on block. I like to spend some time conditioning them to expect two or three jabs to push them, then a cr.lp into cr.mp fishing for a long-ish range counter hit (they only combo on counter).. then I will start switching things up and dropping one or two jabs, then a microwalk forward into ex command grab. It has great range, and once you've established a frame trap, continued pressure and/or commend grabs off the back of those jabs, it makes for a nice way to keep up the pressure.

Ive found myself using more and more meter on my command grab as Vega. In a perfect world of course, you get far more off finishing a combo with Ex Wall Dive. Setups, more damage, etc but the mental damage of the command grabs opens up the neutral a lot, especially against oppressive characters like Cammy and such. You *need* those one or two frames of hesitation. lol.

lol when Vega starts flying around like a madman I just automatically do jump back mp with like any character and it beats all his options except for missing me lol.

Because Capcom hates the fun characters. I play Vega and my st.rh whiffs on crouches even when used as part of my TC. Its... obnoxious. You can really gimp a Vega by just crouching, my OH leads to nothing and stopping the TC from the equation makes stops me finishing with VSkill and such.. Its obviously not game breaking by any means but it is frustrating. I really feel like if my damn st.mp lands the rest of the TC should as well.
