Brook KB & M to PS4

C-Sword

Brook's latest product, the Brook Sniper allows you to use your keyboard and mouse on the PS4. It will work with fighting games and FPS. Like their other converters, a PS4 controller is not needed for authentication.

Here's a concept video:

I think there are keyboard players here that can't afford or are not interested in a HitBox. I should be receiving a reviewing unit soon, so stay tuned.

I'm really hoping this is good. I'd love to try one out!

Been waiting for a bit to buy a brook converter, if this is everything I'm hoping for I'll grab a couple.

A man with too many names.
Hmm, I'm noticing these have the ability to make macros. Would that get them banned in tournament?

I don't think there are that many console FPS tournaments. If you look at Dreamhack, they run almost all their FPS tournaments on PC.

Rip console FPS players if this thing works flawlessly
There are quite a few people using XIM4 on Xbone. It is pretty obvious when someone is using it.

I got a chance to test this at C-Sword place.
It took a while for me to configure it properly (it was not configured properly when he made the video). Once I got that down, it was actually really good.

Setup:
You plug the keyboard and mouse in front. There's a headphone jack in the back and you plug a usb cable from the back of the sniper to the PS4 (it will take both front USB ports). You will need to download an app from the app store and sync it with your phone via bluetooth. You will also need to create an account or use your Facebook account to login. In order to sync, you will need to press a bluetooth button on the sniper and go to pairing mode in the app.

Configuration:
You will need to configure it the same way as the XIM4. For each game, you will need to create a profile in the app. Afterwards, set the X and Y sensitivity to max in the game and control it from the app. You will also need to disable all Right Analog acceleration since it will mess up all the aiming. Any quick movements will not get registered properly.

Gameplay:
I only got to test Doom. Basically, it is much easier to get headshots, do 180 turns (something that's really hard to do on console), and shoot guys on the high grounds when you are looking forward.

Does this device break the console meta? Unfortunately, yes. When it is that much easier to land the first hit, you will always have the advantage in any shooting game. If you play Overwatch and you play any DPS character, it feels like you are playing with an AimBot.

I would only recommend if you play a lot of FPS and you play on a desk. It is very difficult to use a keyboard and mouse when you are sitting on a couch. If you are considering buying a Hori TAC, I would recommend this over the TAC since the Hori TAC is a complete POS. As for the XIM4, they both have their pro and con.

Sniper Pro:
- No Controller verification
- Macro (don't know why I would use it in a FPS game)
- Can configure the sensitivity for both X and Y axis

XIM4 Pro:
- Game profile is already downloaded in the app
- Community (Discussion and Support)
- Device Compatibility List

Thanks to write a view after testing.
If possible, please tell me which keyboard and mouse to connect with Brook

I'm currently using the Venom X when I play FPS on my PS4 and XB1.
Question I have is can this Brook Sniper allows a PS3 navigation controller to work with it
if a person choose not to use a keyboard?

With Venom X I have PS3 Navigation Controller and Logitech G502 Mouse all working together.

I am pretty sure my mouse and keyboard would work since I use a Logitech G502 with a Logitech G110 keyboard.

I said it might be beneficial to show a device compatibility list since a lot of different FPS players would use many different devices and they are not sure if their devices are compatible.

This is what the XIM4 has in the community site:

I know there are a lot of different devices but you should test the more common devices from Razer, Logitech, Steelseries, and Corsair. If someone wants to make a $100+ purchase, they would like to keep their current setup.

@Icepick
Thanks your advice. We already posted a few devices on brook website. http://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/73453649/

Brook kept ordering more keyboard and mouse for testing.

BROOK have released new firmware and app at the end of March.

If you have one, please go Brook website/store to download
