You actually don't have to mash or input it all quickly. Like 21122 said it's broken into two parts. I do 211 first then 22 with a split second in between.
Ok thanks. I'm definitely doing it wrong by trying to input it all at once instead of two parts

Is anyone else really bothered by the fact that EB's slide is the only slide in the game with actual whiff recovery?
Well, the animation is what it is, Sub and Reptile are on there feet all the time, so after a slide they just straighten up. Erron on the other hand, he slides on his ass.

Dude, look at it form a logical standpoint. From which position you are able to get up faster, Jin's split or Erron's ass slide? Test it out home on yourself. ;)
Point is, recovery has nothing at all to do with animation lol. Look at Balanced's TF, why the fuck is that shit -46? All he does is extend out his arm and point at his opponent for a fraction of a second.

Stand Back I'm a Doctor!!!!!!
Not sure if this is known but erron can reverse your wakeup in the corner after a f132 hardknock by running in and neutral jumping. i havent been able to test everything with it though.

I'm platinum mad!
After Slide you can do whatever you want. It's Erron's oki.
After Tackle it's a tad different.

Options after Tackle:
-Mid Coin
-Sand Grenade
-run~d1
-run~f24
-run~f3

f24 and f3 both jail into EXSand Grenade and, midscreen, link into Close Coin (on block). D1 is safe and can be used as a tick-grab. For meterless options consider f24/f3~SOS4. It may be armored but on block does 4% chip, builds good meter, and puts you a safe distance from the opponent.

Things that'll consistently punish strings~SOS4:
-fast, advancing reversals specials
-most armored reversal specials

RIP Erron Black

You were the only reason I bought MKX.

I will never forgive Lord Paulo for what he has done to you.

People might tell me but dude F2...its fucking shit...

I feel ya. I bought MKX for Erron as well, purely based on character design. First fighting game I'd played since MK3 on the Super Nintendo.

What really hurts is the fact that the bones of a great character are still there, especially in Gunslinger. The ligaments that tie it all together seem to be missing, though. I also agree that F2 just isn't the answer; it is just one more disjointed gimick in a bag full of disjointed gimicks.

If "block low" is the solution to 90% of a character's options then it seems that there is a design flaw. Can we get some safe-on-block options without pushback that places the opponent within range of some kind of follow-up? Some plus moves that actually put us into position for a follow-up? :sigh:

At least I have the other Texan. He's not perfect, but he has a lot more options in spite of having half the number of strings.
