Question Xbox Framerate issues?

So for the last few months, whenever I play specifically MK on my Xbone, when I'm in offline practice/towers or whatever, the game starts getting laggy as soon as I throw out a move. This rate of this seems to be random. I also randomly get HORRIBLE framerate/slowdown when in multiplayer lobbies (like dropping to around 12 frames).

Has anyone else had these issues? And if so do you know a fix or when this will be patched?

i usually notice this when i go back into the game after turning the xbox off, it gives me small freezes randomly. Just quit out the application on the dashboard and restarting it back up should work

I reinstalled all the DLC and it seemed to work. For some reason it was all listed as "WB GAMES INC." instead of "Tremor", "Triborg", etc.

Who hired this guy, WTF?
Yes, I have seen stupid amounts of frame drops on xbone as well as numerous hangs (where the xbox has to load a profile or something). Hate it.

YES! it's been happening to me almost every play session. I noticed there's a pattern, it would usually happen after about 2 hours of play time. It seems to me that maybe this patch may have triggered something unusual like this to happen because it never happened before the latest patch.

I tried going offline to see if it improves anything but it's still the same story.

I actually tried this last night, and when I went to see each piece of dlc, was named "WB games" as well. When I reinstalled everything, the description for them changed individually with the proper names for them.

Then I went to check back again later, the names of each dlc item was changing itself back to "wb games". Very strange.

I'm also having the same issue, after about 1-2 hours of play the game gets really laggy even though I'm offline in training mode, 2 player mode or whatever. Everything seems to run fine then all of a sudden any button input will cause the game to lag. If I stop pressing anything and chill everything goes back to normal but as soon as I press something the game lags again.

I'm new to this community, is there any way we can notify NRS somehow, save from posting a note on Twitter or something?

Only way to reach for them is to file a ticket through WB, they may reply to you with standard tips how to reset your console, power cycle, etc. but it's all b.s., it definitely has to do with the last patch. one of the previous patches would make the game crash every time you got to boss Shinnok in ladder.

I'll find the link for filing the ticket with WB a bit later, posting from my phone atm.

Update:

Now I've reached out to WB support. they recommended doing a hard reset, or cold reboot. That didn't do jack, as I've done that numerous times already. I even cleared the bluray cache, that didn't do anything either.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Waste of time. Nothing seems to work.

I have set XBone to offline, to see if there are differences in frame rate issues as compared to being online, but still in single player offline modes. The lag is significantly higher when the console is completely offline with no internet connection.

It's still there when you're online, but a little less frequent.

I played several hours of Killer Instinct and never noticed a drop in frame rate, thinking maybe my system is crapping out.

I'm running out of options here. The only thing I haven't tried yet is system reset, but that's going to take a lot of time to reinstall everything once again. I still have a feeling even that won't fix the problem, but if it does I'll post it here.

In the mean time, I say it's more than likely from the October patch, or the last hotfix patch we got.

I've been having the same problem as well. I just assumed it was my xbox going to shit and I needed a new one. But if there's several people that are having same issue than its most likely not my xbox but the game itself.

I'm curious if this is an issue on PS4 as well. If not then it could just be an optimization issue on xbox. Either way it needs to be addressed during the next patch/update. Having lag like symptoms offline is completely unacceptable this late in a games life cycle.

2nd Update: (possibly resolved issue!)

While I'm updating games to my wonderful brand new PS4 Pro, I'm certainly not saying goodbye to my XBox 1, or giving up on this issue with the frame rate drop.

I found something very interesting last night. Now normally my Xbox will prompt me to update the dashboard whenever I boot it up. Apparently there was an update not too long ago (Nov. 10th) and today is the 14th. My console didn't prompt me to download it (very strange). I looked up what this patch does, and it basically boosts performance in the before super slow dashboard and should fix issues like the one discussed in this topic.

So I updated the console via settings, and it was there around 678mb. Pretty large for an update (normally they're around 200-300mb), assumed it would help the frame rate issue with MKX.

Booted up MKXL, connected online, and it worked flawlessly. It even loaded the game pretty quickly in comparison to before. Since there are a lot of DLC items, it seems like the game checks all the content before it goes to the copyright screen.

I also checked to see if the game performs well offline. Well it stuttered at one point during the intros, and not since. Played for a couple hours completely offline single player vs cpu matches and no lag.

So go ahead an update your system if you haven't already. Could have been an issue on Microsofts end. In the beginning, MKX had problems due to the game checking each piece of DLC, 1 by 1 before allowing you to play normally. This was with the old dashboard. Sometimes purchased DLC characters and skins wouldn't show up, but was resolved in a dashboard update, ironically.

Let me know guys if it worked for you as well.

Wow shit i thought i was the only one having issues with the xbone version of the game...i noticed lag (almost as if the game was "skipping" like a disc or CD was scratched) while in training mode and also if i was playing online etc the game would lag before the last hit landed on the opponent etc..regardless of the connection...

Anybody still having frame rate issues because I am. Any fix yet
Even after the new xbox dash update? are you playing completely offline or online connected but in offline modes?

It's been pretty good for me so far since the update. Still stutters a little if I put network offline, but not as much as before.

I wonder if Xbox One S has similar issues. MKXL runs perfectly on PS4 Pro. online or offline.

I'm sure I have the latest update. I'm in preview program if that means anything. Completely offline, xbox network settings set to, offline. I'll be in practice comboing in the corner, dont know if certain stages are the cause and suddenly frames just drop. Not extremely often but happens enough to warrant concern

Oh I see, I'm not in the preview program. I do hear about a lot of bugs for preview members.

I did see some lag with offline network settings, but like I said earlier not as much. It seems like it happens during particle effects like fireballs, or whatever animation has higher framerate. Strangely enough, it never happens during fatalities.

Could it be that MKX for XBox One is actually programmed to use some of that cloud power, which would explain why this is happening?

Or it could be that the game is trying to constantly connect itself online because of the faction wars stuff? and the fact that when playing offline keeps triggering the frame drops. I don't know to be honest.
