Mkx story is weaker than mk9 story, yes.

Also the music in mkx has been pretty disappointing, as many of you have been pointing out.

If you play Injustice and MKX mobile the music is at the same volume as the SFX, so you can appreciate it. You have to turn up the music in the main games.

One thing I like is the fact that they added the dirt, wet and snow effects to the characters. Quan Chi's fortress is dirty as fuck. :D

MK9 looked like "tendon/sinew kombat" or an anatomy lesson gone wrong. Injustice had that as well.

the characters are nice but the story was shit. Really blew the lead from the comic. Brutalities make up for everything though. They could never do fatalities again as far as I'm concerned, but never do a game without brutalities again. Brutalities for injustice. Brutalities for president.
Heck yeah! Brutals are great in this mkx. I can't go back to not having them. NRS should get more love cause they were extremely well done.

#PROS#

- Graphics
- Animations
- Brutalities
- SFX
- Large kast with every kharacter realised better than ever before
- Excellent training mode
- Offline tower variety
- GGPO

#CONS#

- BGM
- Faction system
- Weak & short story
- Lacks Nightwolf
- Lacks an interesting tailor-made challenge tower
- Small number of stages
- Stages which look nice but aren't memorable
- Barely existent PC kommunity because you know why

I wish Tremor was more like an earth bender for his base move set. Crystalline's armor-up and summon boulder are what I'm talking about but they're crystal and not earth. I would've made his crystal arms a skin and do something else entirely with that variation.

Agreed, characters like Kotal Kahn and were incredibly good in the comic, but in the story Kotal gets beaten by Kung Jin, who showed up more as a random Shaolin in the Special Forces rather than being introduced as someone that can go against a heavyweight like the Emperor of Outworld.

Also the part where he accepted execution from Jin was just bleeeeegh. It made Kotal seem so very weak, not like the Emperor we saw in the comics and during his part of the story.

Hey guys, I'm kinda new here because I haven't really played this game as seriously as MK9. I want to talk a bit about the current state of the story of this game.
What is NRS doing to the old school villains? Let's take a look at them right now:
Baraka: dead
Ermac: still in the story
Goro: gone from the story
Kano: still in the story
Kintaro: gone/possibly dead
Mileena: dead
Motoro: dead before he even got a chance in the new games
Reptile: still in the story (irrelevant tho)
Sektor: prob dead and became part of a fucking robot amalgamate
Shang Tsung: dead
Shao Kahn: dead
Sheeva: gone from the story
Now Quan is dead too, even tho he isn't exactly an old school character he is still quite important.
I know some of these characters (like Sheeva) were not exactly popular, but I feel like it's really bad luck to be a villain in MK atm.
Like, I don't want fucking Liu Kang ruling the Netherrealm, I want some badass villain doing it. Now Raiden is probably gonna be the villain of the next game to some extent while the heroes who die are just gonna get the Jesus treatment like they always have to make it possible for them to come back. (NRS went to bringing everyone randomly back to life to bringing popular good guys back to life).
Not sure I want to live in a world without Quan and Shang :/ and it makes me fear for Tanya and Rain, two characters I like and might not come back in the next game/come back just to die.
Anyway, just a rant from someone who's been following this game's story forever and really loves it and feels our adorable villains could use some more love. (D'vorah was a really good addition, at least).
In spite of that, this is my favorite game series ever story wise. It really helps to feed my eternal lore hunger.

Sonya killed Kintaro, Sub killed Sektor
