Shinnok has many dumb things but this one tops it all. Fullscreen instant teleport NJK that jails into F4. In training i can anti air somewhat consistently with spin but its not gonna happen in a real match, if you are even one frame late you will get B1 instead of spin. Also good luck to any character that doesn't have a 7 frame spin. It's safe to say 9/10 times shinnoks will get away with IAT and then you are forced to block the 50/50's which can be made safe in multiple ways.

So yeah why is nobody complaining about this? Shinnoks get a free 50/50 if you do anything other than standing still fullscreen and waiting for it, and even then its hard to beat...

In other words, people have been led to believe that the primary defensive option is the number one problem in an offensive game.

I don't see a reason to try and react with a special to anti air. At that height you can stick out a button like s1 or a fast d2.

Teleporting randomly in the neutral isn't a good strategy anyway.

i'd still say impostor is currently his best variation this patch.

and yea, what a lot of people said, random teleports with this character always have been a bad idea.
I said boring, not bad. as I found boring BS before this patch, he was still very viable though.

I find the new mimicry very, very annoying to time, it just feels too mechanical.

neutral jump punch or uppercut .. if you're too late block .. fuzzy his low option and punish him if he tries overhead

Be a jumping bean, you're Kung Lao. That way when he tries it you can punish him with DU ~ 2 or just divekick him out of the air.

Otherwise block the NJK and then you can backdash, it works every time, you don't need to take the F4. Of course he could try to counter that by running at you and then F4, but that's just another read he'll have to make.

Walking, dashing or running makes the regular one whiff, dashing and running both make the front one whiff.


Also it's pretty difficult to get the timing so perfect that it jails into F4. If you don't think your opponent's execution is tight enough you can just jump back xx tele after the NJK and probably get a punish that way.

Really like your name, a friend of my told me what a dirty Sanchez is a long time ago, so funny, nice vide, iam going to pick up imposter shinnock, in the video he does tele into a normal that is canceled into the special, can you tell me what the normal move is, just curiously, I believe it is f4

An actual instant-air tele is not reactable. Just most people don't instant air properly due to the execution.
Getting instant is not too hard on a pad. It's still relatively slow and at that height you can just stick out a s1 which is usually 6-9 frames.

Why is instant air tele in neutral a bad idea according to shinnok players? Unreactable instant air jump kick from anywhere on the screen? Don't get what's bad about that.

Anyway for a more respectable answer. If it was as instant as can be the normal doesn't come out. To the point where the kick will come out it's reactable as fuck. Seriously take Impostor and try just teleporting on Red Raptor, Dab, the King brothers. It's not gonna fucking happen. The only time it's not reactable is when the other player has bad reactions.
