Tech - Cryomancer Why Cryomancer Sub Zero is NOT Top 5.

GM is still the best imo
Thanks, I picking up gm and going to spend months understanding him, can you explain this, when using gm against a female (dummie)and in the corner, you can not perform f33 xxdb2(whiff), but in practice mode hard and single fight CPU hard, you can do f33xxdb2( the statue forms), why is this. The only reason I can think of is the female opponent is moving somewhat (in hard practice mode and hard single fight mode)and as a result alters her hitbox alignment to allow f33 to cancel into ice klone without whiffing, just a thought

Could be the breathing hitbox. I never use f33 klone in my combos tho

Thanks, any particular reason why you do not use f33 into ice klone, I like f33 because it is easy to perform, safe and fairly fast start up frames, just curious, I will take anyone's advise that uses gym and knows what they are doing

Which combo are you using it in?

i am just starting my learning of gm, I now realize how important the gm variation is, so iam starting small with corner kombos and basic open filed to push the opponent to the corner

Open field f33(b33, 12,11,b12)xxbd2 now throw iceballs to freeze then 242~ run~f33xxbf4 or 123xxbf4 or f33xxice burst
Or 11xxdf2~242~run~f33(123)xxdb4. All to,push the opponent to the corner

Corner f33(b12, 11, 12, f42, b33 or various basic moves;d3, d4)xxdb2(statue forms)~b2 if opponent is low blocking, if connects bounces opponent into Klone form an air freeze, to follow with any of the following: njp~jip~bf4 or f33xxbf2 or 123xxbf4. If opponent is blocking hi or is slow to wake up I will do bf4 after the f33xxdb2 to once again force the opponent into the klone form an air freeze and end this as above or after the f33xxdb2(statue) I will do f33 which is the only basic kombo that will like b2 and slide foce the opponent into the klone forming a low to the ground air freeze and follow up with f33xxslide
These for me at this point of learning are effective and give descent damage and allow you to loop back into another corner klone to keep the opponent (jailed) cornered

Alternate corner. F33(b33 and so on)xxdb1+R2~242~f3(d3, d4, f1, b1, 2, 3, d1 or b12)xxdb2( forms air freeze)~nip~jip~bf3. You get from 24 to 34 percent damage based on the basic/basic kombo move post 242

Iam learning these viable kombos, and when I get extremely consistent and nail the timing down I will move on to kombos that you hi quality gm players do, I want to build knowledge of this play style and confidence first , also working on b2~d1(11, f1, f4, f42)xxdb2 and when I get good at this I will add b12 after the d1

SonicFox posted his top 5 in order:

Sonya
Takeda

I take it SonicFox wont up play his new main, amirite? SubZero best character in the game konfirmed.

Shut it down.
He honestly is a pretty good candidate for the best. I just don't think it's solely Cryo and that GM is the best variation, but his strength comes from all 3 together which makes him top tier.

Interesting list, I personally feel they really beefed up kitana rs and kl tempest, just a thought, which sub variation is he referring to
Do you mean Buzzsaw? Tempest didn't really get changed much. Overall while the buffs helped, the loss of ex spin hurt him significantly because he relies on ex teleport now and it has tracking issues. This not only hurts on wake-up but also his ability to exploit gaps on defense. You'll teleport out, but if their move advances, you're left hanging in the air out of range. Depending on their move's recovery, you can even get punished for it. :(

So nah, sadly, I don't think he's top five.

Why can't you blow up gaps with ex spin?
