Dink's terms appeal to the excuse makers of TYM, so of course some will come in and defend.

But in reality, Kevo's terms, are just playing the game under the rules of the event. Dink is the one trying to make up stipulations.

Kevo just traded hands with the very best in the game. He's not afraid of Dink. He just doesn't feel like committing to a character that he might not use, especially since him vs Dink will probably be so irrelevant by the time that it rolls around. Kevo is sponsored and i'm sure wants to place at the last few upcoming majors for MKX.

Of course the TYM monsters who sit back and just want to watch drama, don't care about Kevo and if he competes comfortably or not.

Kevo isn't trying to cheat. If you think you can best him, let him do what he wants, under the set rules of MKXL, at the event that you guys play at. Otherwise, how is he the scared one? lmfao

Kevo did an amazing job at the last major, I played him when he used to play Kitana in the early stages of this game, yes I won that mirror ;), then I didnt see him play the game till like this last major with Mileena, he plays her very risky but it payed off.

I respect both players but Dink's argument is kind of disingenuous. When you only truly play one character, announcing that you're going to play said character doesn't count for anything. Tier whore or not tier whore only matters when there is nothing on the line. Does anyone think Sonic cares when he's cashing checks after winning with Alien? Just play or don't play. Fuck all the stipulations. Let's say that Kevo will only play as top tiers. If Dink can't beat him when he plays as a top tier, Kevo would be the better player. Presenting a false choice and then asking for Kevo to tie his hands behind his back is basically the same as asking him to play with a handicap just to give you a better chance.

You guys are missing the point. This whole discussion started because Kevo said that Dink was trash (against him at least), and that's why Dink called him out.

If I call someone trash it means that I consider myself better than he is and, if asked to do so, am ready to prove it. But on an even playfield.

Waiting to see who the next top tier is going to be means that he is infact afraid to play on an even chance, and being the one that started talking shit first makes his argument pretty stupid.

What I'm saying is that it's easy to claim to be the faster pilot while driving a Ferrari.

Character loyalist asking a non character loyalist to tell you in advanced who they'll pick is not an even playing field. The character loyalist will have to adjust to the patch changes whereas the non-loyalist may have to learn a new character altogether because the changes no longer fit his playstyle. Again, if everyone is as good as they think they are, there's no need for special stipulations. Just play.

Let's say you and your friend want to race each other in a few months. You both have cars now but they will be gone pretty soon, replaced by brand new cars. You're okay with that, you think you're that much of a better driver to where it doesn't matter Your buddy doesn't want to since you guys don't really know wether you're gonna be driving a Corvette or a Honda Prelude and he wants to be sure he ends up in the Corvette.

Thats not a good argument though. Kevo's characters could get completely obliterated in the next patch and Quan would probably be buffed if anything. Why would Kevo pick a character now (Like 6 months from the event) when he has no idea who he would even play in a new patch?

This whole thread is dumb. I agree with @Rude that they should do it on RHS before the patch to limit excuses.

Edit: Disclaimer, I haven't payed attention to any patch hints so if they've already said they are nerfing Quan that's a bit different.

I beat Kevo consistently with Quan vs Kabal in MK9

I Have never beat Kevo in MKX. We have played about 15 games since release.

We pick our characters before the patch hits on tuesday. I dont know whats going to happen with Quan, he doesnt know whats gonna happen with any other character. I pick quan, he refused my offer. Fair playing field in my opinion. But if he says I'm terrible against him, he's telling me its easy money. What do you guys think? I'll link the stream archive for anyone that wants to hear the whole conversation.
