Good buff, specially in the context of the apparent direction of the game, and for the look of it you will be able to use it as a launcher for combos at close range (mixups for Balanced).

About the armor it seems like something unversal, though I think some moves that launch without expending meter (ie: Rising Karma) could still get armor (or maybe changed into safe? so you pick between the new OH launcher or a safe launcher when using your meter).

Balanced has no overhead lol. No mixups here.

You don't need to cancel into a move to use it. You can start with EX Slash or a B3. Or B3ExSlash to force them to pay attention on defense. Not the fastest overhead but on setups you could start with it.

Not true 50/50 but at least there is a reason to block high lol.
 
I honestly think that combo'ing after the ex drop isn't that good tbh. I mean the startup seems too slow plus from almost anywhere on screen all he can get after it is a tele flurry. A regular mixup would have been better imo. Or am I missing something?

Not feeling confident about Kenshi in the upcoming patch.
My main concern is what will happen with his armor. Possessed will have no problems, because he has no launching armor (besides 19% exdb1). But Balanced lives by the threat of armor and damaging antiair, and unless the set of buffs he receives is huge, it will be very hard to compensate an armor nerf for a variation that needs it to create respect.

14% expush is not going to make people respect anything, they will go ham and if they get hit, ok, 14%; if not, they are in, pressure, combo potential, vortexes, etc... Bad scenario for Balanced. Same if exkarma does not have armor or does not combo.

25 frames of startup and he flashes white to EX it. No mixup.

I don't see this as a pressure buff. Assuming it still comes out on trade I see this as a way to strengthen his zoning / counter zoning game.

That said, I'm a possessed main so it's nice that we're all getting to the same kind of shitty page.

As some of you may or may not have already seen, Balanced Kenshi will be getting a buff to where his ex overhead slice now launches and can be followed up with a teleflurry. I'm a potato, so I don't know how to post the GIF demonstrating this. What are your thoughts on this? I think this is a very good start for this variation.
i have the same problem. im not a geeky guy, but generally i don't have this proiblem but when it comes to GIF's on Twitter and My Chrome browser, i can not for the life of me, Embed it on here? anyone know how to do this and can you please explain it to me?

Ex overhead slash was useless, this was very needed. But of course he needs much more. Specially if they plan to remove armor from certain launchers, which is still to be confirmed.

If that was the case and he loses armor from exrisingkarma (or loses combo followup potential) he would need A LOT to compensate that.
they are not removing Armor for all Launchewrs just the Top OP characters that some Players bitched about. that i seen on Twitter in Convos. dig deep, its just an Assumption on TYM that all of them are gone. Kenshi keeps Rising KArma Armor.

Reptile is not a top character at all, was on nobody's nerf list, and apparently lost his armor...

i don't think he was perceived as a top at all. i think Reptile is Sleeper Agent, and is very good all around. but i never thought he was A+ or anything. just very good. with pressure, and they proabaly wanted to tone that down. it mihgt be a step towrds toning down Obsene Pressure, and they are just being carful and hitting everyone with it that even has Awesoem Pressure. im not convinced that its all to do with just Armor. i think when Tyler said when you see the Big picture and all Changes then you will understand, because i think it has to do with nerfing Offense. this may effect some players Defense as well. but i think they may take it in a good direction and im sure some characters will retain Launching armor. think of it. Lao, Mileena, Goro and many still will have it. i think. but what you guys have said is a good view point.

dont be like that we have a Small Fraction of what he got. I am very excited for KEnshi Changes and possibly seeing him at Majors. that would be awesome.

yeah among his Shitty neutral, and lack of keep away. he needs a better Stagger D4 i think. 13 frames is way to long for this Game and everyones frames


I think people are just overreacting to that big time. They changed 1 character, why people think armored launchers across the whole cast are gonna get nerfed is beyond me.
Exactly NRS is known for Giving one thing to a character and taking it away on another, they have never Universally given or taken a tool to date on MKX.



I agree. This buff might help him out just a little but honestly balanced needs a lot to compete. Oh well.

That OH Slash was very nice.
but also needs imo:

7frame D4
Decent Backdash
Rising Karma Starts up quicker and bigger hitbox.
Less Recovery on Slash and Tele Flurry
better hitbox on Tele Flurry especially on Females like Mileena. with that 43 needs to connect better with her in combo.
Some adjustment to 322 becaus the first hit wiffs on females to much and has to short of range. don't get me wrong its a great normal, but i hope they addressed all that and more.

hey are you excited about Fisty? man the possibilities with MEter burn after Bump. could be very cool. i like that variation because he has Fast Specials, and i always messed around with A-List and his chrges made everything slow, Does he have Flip kick in Fisy? that can be his AA, i hope they make it comboable after hit. that would be an awesome move for Johnny to use to AA' JIP's and JIK's ?

My concern is the broader problem of the designers not really understanding why his design worked too well in MK9 and how it doesn't work in MKX and most importantly, how to adjust the character fairly. How many iterations of the character have we been through since the MKX was released? The default three for the variation system and the ones for all the balance patches/upgrades that were released. And still the character is considered unanimously to be not for serious competition. I be mained the character since MK9 and for most of MKX's life. I don't want Kenshi to be S tier like he was in MK9. I just the work that I put into the character to show in my win/loss ratio. Currently it doesn't. It's not fun to lose games because you picked the wrong straw out of the hat when good faith effort was put in to win. I ask fighting game designers, why offer so many characters on the character select screen when they can't balance them all for competitive play and fighting games are competitive by their nature?

I've been playing these games for about 30 years and I'm afraid I know the answer to that question already and it's leading to my frustration with the genre.
