Normalize grab immunity.
Learning Zangief. Day 1.

This characters so freaking fun. You can literally just stand outside everybodies range and whiff punish everything with SPD. It's so godlike. And his jab is a really good AA. This character man, this character lol.

Don't play Zangief. Play an actually cool grappler and learn Mika.

Lol that video. And fuck yassss, it's SO nice to go from the land of no grapplers that was MKX to this game where Alex, Gief & co. are so fucking rewarding even if the struggle can be really real.

My only advice is ABC, bruh: always be churning.

Zangief thread bro.
This is what I have been saying for ages. Gief is frustrating at times and you will get bodied, I get wrecked a lot but there are just those moments in matches where you pull off some of the sickest stuff and you just dont care about the rest of the match.
In all the fighting games I have played, I have never even thought of choosing grapplers until I tried SFV. I will not change my character in Tekken but I will seriously consider them in other games.

Totally forgot about that thread. Will start posting in it when I need to talk about Gief stuff. This character just makes you so happy when you do one thing really cool.

But King doe! He was what started it all for me.

Surprisingly enough, NRS actually nailed the feel of a grappler in one of their games too with Solomon Grundy in Injustice. He had the same rewarding struggle, the massive damage if he caught you, armor for days, insane resets/throw mix-ups, etc. He felt the part 100%.

And even though Bane was more of a brawler, his command grab was such an integral part of his gameplay that he was a better grappler than anyone in any of their other games too by default. I highly recommend looking to the grapplers in Injustice 2 in the hopes that NRS doesn't regress in that department.

Plus I still have my fingers crossed for them giving us a ranged footsies-based grappler with Swamp Thing this time around lol.

I need more information on grapplers in NRS games before I will give them a try, I heard that there was a lot of trouble with grab immune moves in Injustice and I dont like the sound of that.
Im also waiting for Darkseid to be announced.

Welcome to the club Comrade! Pleasure to have you! As was stated previously, come to the Zangief thread and see what's up. And if you have any questions it'd be my pleasure to help if I can! MUSCLE POWER

I learned a little Mika, she's boring. I guess I'm just into humongous Russian dudes...

The only person who's mad is you. You'd be happier if you were more honest about your . . . . interests. Look at Scott. He accepts his attraction to muscular Russians.

I'm done playing grapplers in NRS games as long as grab immune BS is still a thing. Why bother when the game becomes harder for no real reason.

You are the only person who talks about that stuff, are you sure there are no hidden feelings there?

BTW if anyone wants to know my main in Tekken, guess.
Edit: Took off Tekken stuff not relevant.
Edit 2: Adding Tekken stuff.

Don't get me wrong, grab immunity was a definite issue along with some other things. Hell, Grundy couldn't even catch a good Hawkgirl at all; it was almost as torturous as trying to move an inch with Lex against a good Zod lol.

Still, those characters really nailed the same feel you get playing Gief in SFV, even more so at times (landing a chip trait with Grundy so zoners can't do shit but try and go in against YOU now lol, for example, or nailing a 89% damage corner combo with him for the comeback). I've always mained grapplers and I can assure you it's the only game NRS at least nailed the feel of the archetype in, even if they gave grab immunity out like candy to sabotage that shit.

NRS shill #42069
i dont want to say i have the best Urien setups, so I'll let Lionbae say it

I could guarantee the stun with 1 reset instead of the sneaky 2 here, but the followup combo leaves Ryu with 100 health or so.

DAT WAZ GLIKE!
that's the good stuff

anyway what's cool here is that i can slightly time the setup alittle differently to get a guaranteed stun if they eat the grab, but lose 100 or so damage in the process. I think I'll play him seriously tbh
