So in the video listed below, you'll see that a perfectly executed instant air rising axe (will be referred to as "IARA") caused 16 frame b1 to beat out the fastest 6 frame reversal in the game (not counting supers). Some simple math and you'll find that IARA is somewhere around +11 frames (b1 came out at least 1 frame earlier than the reversal did).

Sorry bout the quality, it was done on a ps3 with a janky walmart level capture card.

To put this into perspective, Johnny Cage's F3(4) RC is +12. +11 is a LOT

why u care

Any time you get an IARA on block, you set yourself a huge mindgame that allows you to do some shit.

Landing yourself an IARA on block

After a blocked j3
After a poke on hit
After b1, jump back IARA
While jumping back to catch "rushdown fools"

Post IARA meta:

14f B2 and 14f D3 50/50 (will be discussed later)
11f D2 or 16f b1 if you think they won't respect your plus frames cuz they're idiots or dont know the MU

16f B1 vs 16f B12 stagger shenanis (yall can figure that out)
Throw
Split second trait charge to fakie them, then d1 to catch a poke attempt
Slightly longer trait charge, then MB b3
Another IARA

Once you've got the opponent respecting your plus, go ahead and crap on them by doing your crossup j3 vs non-crossup rising axe 50/50.

why u care about b2/d3 mixup:
Both these options literally come out on the same frame; completely unfuzzable and unless youre ando you can't react to it. On paper it sounds dumb: B2 sure yeah it's a full combo (into 2/3 trait charge) but D3 is only 7%, why bother blocking low as an opponent?

D3, a hard knockdown, allows you to do a separate vortex on hit. After a d3, forward dash and Jump FORWARD IARA (JFIARA). You'll notice it crosses up. If you dash up and b2, your OH won't crossup. IF you are doing your JFIARA as well executed as in the video and IF you slightly delay your timing, there's very little chance your opponent is going to react to b2 vs crossup rising axe. Mix it up with a throw to get them biting their nails.

Besides, even if they block the IAFRA, you loop the situation. Whoop dee doo, since you've got them respecting your options, crap on them with crossup j3 vs non-crossup rising axe.

FAQ
But this is too hard! :(
too bad. Anyway, luckily for you delaying rising axe does the same job, it's just less likely you'll get it as low as if you got it off IARA. Also, even slightly slower IARAs grant you enough plus frames to stuff 6 frame reversals with d2.

Should I be using this at least once a match?
yes

Is sinestro rushdown then?!
no

Isnt the first question not a question
ok

@Crusty Clown
idk who else to tag cuz no one plays this game at all anymore

Where there is smoke, there is cancer.
ok

In all seriousness it's kinda slow. It's not an infinite if ur wondering that
No I'm not wondering if it's an infinite but I was wondering how big the gap is to see if it could frame trap some normals or to see if it's reactable if you were to do two in a row to be extra cheeky lol

I got d1 to jail if that's sorta what youre asking. Imo there's no point in going for jailing strings though if you get a 50/50 or stagger option since his strings cant cancel into anything particularly interesting.

You are right that you could probably get two if theyre in fear of pressing buttons though :)

Crusty

Retired forever; don’t ask for games.
Even without this you can d1 after a blocked J3 and they cannot mash out of that.

What is usually done is that you d1 then you walk back slightly to bait a counterpoke, that's when I throw my B1,2 out.
