Do Monitors Make That Big Of A Difference?

Yes, and I even played with an asshole on injustice offline (who I won't name) who tried to argue me that I wasn't dropping my BnBs because of the monitor, but because I was bad lol. After playing Joker for a year and a half at that point. Monitors matter! If you're not used to them most likely you're going to go to a local and drop a lot of shit that you can do 10 times out of 10. Buy one.

I lost my 1st tournament because of the input delay, i dropped every cancel and by the time i started to adapt i was out of the pools. Tournament was on Widescreen tv and i am used to monitors, I had no idea about input delay back then and didn't know what to do. I thought Raiden betrayed me then.

May i ask how to get red of input delay on widescreens TVs? Does switching to gamemode help?
some but not really, some TV's have that function, but in reality TV are not built for 60FPS games, and thats why some when playing games like the division online, it will Ghost which is the term for when info gets sent to the tv/monitor in real time, and it can't keep up with the info being gatherd and for lack of better way of explaining it, your TV can't display it fast enough.

Ghosting has to do with Response time.

Input Delay with TV's And Monitors has to do with: how long inmage takes to get from Console to your TV through the Cable. so you can be playing your fighing game and press a button, inside your console the move preforms but it comes to the TV later and Displays later, and if you are used to that TV, you will never notic it especially at 70ms kinda harfd for us to notice something so fast. but If you are a person who goes to Tournaments or places to play games like i do time from time, or Own aGaming Monitor, you will noticxe a huge differance and it will hinder everything you do on your fighting game. tight frame links to even juggling combos can be tragic if you are used to TV crap response times.

Stick with Monitors bro and thanks for sharing.

I was there two once, i thought TV's and Monitors where no different, i even thought Monitors where ment for Computers and TV's where ment for Consoles. I cvouldn't be more wrong. i always bought top end TV's and thought i was frame perfect, but when i Got a Monitor a whole world opened up for me in the FG World. 1-3 Frame links easy as Fuck. Juggling from midscreen to coner with single taps became easy. Uppercut combos into high recovery moves in corner became easy. Frame cancels easier;) and Frame Blocks easier to do. like when you use a move that gives you 7 frames of advantage and you need to press a button before the 7 frames are up, so much easier on Monitor Vs TV.

I find it does help quite a bit. I think it's the whole idea of it but I'd guess that it's not perfect.

There is a significant drop in quality, most notably in the sound department. On my TV anyway.
yeah the sound and picture is what you sacrifice with Monitors for Frame perfect links and Combo Consistency and well as easily landing those Cancel pressure loops 9/10- 10/10.

I like Consistency and with that said i can do without marvelous sound and Beautiful picture.

bye bye pretty colors and sounds that pull me in, im going for Cancels and tight frame links.

Hey guys,

I have this baby for some years now.

Its Response Time is 2ms. I don't know about the Input Lag there. This baby isn't even in the DisplayLag.com. I know that the 27" monitors are the latest in inches. There are not 28" monitors, as far as I know. I wish I knew its full specs regarding these gaming stuff.

your Samsung S27B350H specs:

Type: LCD Monitor, Widescreen
Diagonal: 27"
Resolution: 1920x1080 (16:9)
LED (LED) backlight: Yes
LCD Type: TFT TN

-----------------------------------------------

Response Time: 2ms

Input Lag: 49ms = 3 frames

This guy Confirms what i tested:

has 3 frames of Input lag that translates close to 49ms something. and that's hella bad, just get one on Displaylag.com and get one with 10ms or below Lag, they have a chart and they work to find all the tv's and put them on there and test them to see there input lag and response time. so you don't have to trust your dealer or local stor / distributor to tell the truth, you can look at Displaylag.com and know for sure.

like i said Displaylag.com and find one under 10MS or 10 LAg in there chart, and that will give you zero frames of lag.

In this thread i posted all the good tournament ready 10ms and below 27" monitors that are confirmed and backed by Displaylag.com

Thanks for the info. I don't need speakers on the monitor, because I already have professional sound card and 2 studio speakers here in my house as a home studio. Besides gaming, I work as a graphic designer and a music producer. Used to be a dj, but stopped a while later due of not finding a job to work on.

I bought this monitor 2-3 years ago, because I wanted a bigger with low lag input. Now you know the rest. Didn't know much about it until you explained things here. Kudos to you, bro.

Well the speakers thing is because im lazy for all intensive purposes, I just didn't want to get up to turn a nob on external speakers, id rather use remote.

nice im a Pharmaceutical Engineer. currently i work at home, nice gig. i live in mark twain national forest so i can do most of my plant work from home. I.E. Most pills are made out of chemicals synthesized out of specific genius of plants. like Papaver Somniferum the one that makes Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone, Oxymorphone and its other Opioid family members for Pain Revlievers. im trying to find a way to lesson adictivenes with Opioids and strengthen there Potency and Longevity per Dose without being to harmful.

So far im finding it might be possible with Methaline-Dieoxy-Meth/Oxy-Hydromorphone. so basically a plant's milk and possibly chemically changing the molecular structure so another known chem can bond to it safley. but getting pharma to allow this without characging and arm and leg is another story. they would rather you have problems from your pills so you come back to your doctor and he can make a cocktail of prescriptions.

This guy @zoofs has only ever played MKX on a TV, and guess what? He's trash.

Don't be trash like zoofs. Get a monitor.
So mean but funny. And true. TV's are for scrubs, Be a Pro play on Monitors.

It depends on how serious you are about mkx. A monitor is a pretty big purchase considering it's just a videogame but if you really wanna step it up then go for it!
A good monitor will improve gaming in general for u, not just this one game. i recently upgraded and i play lots of games and its not even comparable.! the choices at the moment are 4k or 144hz, both are a massive step up from some tv screen, in both picture quality and response time

What you said confirms most of the fraud doctor cases. Most of the pharmaceutical companies tend to have their drugs with toxic stuff. They're in cahoots with those fraud doctors to earn a lot of money out of their own victims. It's a loop, which nobody have discovered until today during this crisis.

I had my eye in surgery due of those very toxics that messed my vision. I was close to be blind. My pressure was 35-40, but after the 3rd surgery it dropped down to 11 and even close to the hypotasis border (pressure 8). After this I discussed it with my doctor not to give me drops that contain toxins. Since then I avoid such stuff. During that period I had a temporary achromatopsia yellow type, which means that the white color has been switched to the light yellow. I had a hard time playing a game with QTE at that time.

The best for you guys would to find a good drug that can help many people WITHOUT chemicals in it. Trust me. It would save a lot of people.

Let's discuss this topic in another thread or conversation, if you like.

So i went ahead and ordered a 23" Asus monitor. I went with the 23" instead of 27" only because i dont want to get used to viewing a bigger screen. In all honesty it doesnt make a difference, im just afraid lol.

I know it comes with a speaker but... What type of headphones you guys know off that are great for gaming/tournament?

Like if i was to travel to a tournament, i can just plug in and ill be good! Most tournaments dont offer head sets. So it would be good to have.

shoulda gone for that 27", even 28" i want larger. personal taste tho

do you mean headphones to plug into the console? If you want usb most turtle beach ones have it, but I think there is only two usb ports on a ps4 right so you might have to choose between headset or using a stick haha

Lol its all gravy..

Man i was used to be able to plug some headphones in my stick and be abke to listen there. But i broke the jack itself and it doesnt look like its able to be fixed or parts to order to fix on my own. Which sucks cuz i had thenperfect set up. Breaks too easily imo. But if theres a wireless way i should be good. If i go to a tourney i can jus hook it up and be good. There HAS to be more than 2 usb ports..right? Im xbone i wouldnt know lol

gaming monitors vs. regular tvs is kind of foolish of a topic tho. I play MKX on a 90s mitsubishi tv but I see no difference.

nah i was questioning him saying true to inflames' joke post, i told inflames the other day i didnt play on a monitor but i have one now and he couldnt believe it so he made that post in reference. Monitors definitely make a difference due to not having as much lag but I also think people overrate it a lil

but i cant tell if dude was serious about saying funny/true about me being trash

I used to play mk on an old tube tv. If you have an old tv than it is fine. Not a lot of lag on those. But on new tvs like flat screens, yeah it matters. Newer tvs have a lot of lag
