Man. I'm having a hard & frustrating time relearning cmd kano right now. I just got a new stick and I seem to can't perform shit with this guy.

Like I'm about to tear out my dreadlocks over this guy.

Basically it's his command grabs and executing it properly on the hitbox.

Is there any commando main how plays on this Godlike Siege beast known as hitbox.

Guys... I really need help.

Been away from the site for a while. Activity went down quite a bit since the game been out. So many news ones I been playing also. I'll be happy to create some BnB I created for myself using Commando.

Commando is my main dude. It's a little late over here but what I can tell you is this...his tick throws are great for making the oppenent also guess what you about to do. I have to make a video to show you better.

Yeah that'll be helpful. I've pretty much master Cybernetic.
Well to be honest I've probably gone further beyond what I've been capable of doing with him previously. I don't give a shit how low he is that character is rock solid.

I'm now on to seriously taking a look at CT now but getting the run cancels down is still difficult for me even on his bnbs.

Cmd is GODLIKE on the hitbox.

I just think f4 should tick. If Jax's f3 can tick why can't Kano's f4?
I would really like that change, I sometimes get a f4 command throw cancel when I attempt a command throw input sometimes. This would help correct that input error, granted that's only happened online :p. I would like them to finally fix the command throw whiffing issues and the parry inconsistencies as well. That's all commando really needs to be complete as a character. Has anyone else noticed the recover on Jason's whiffed command throw? Is it just me, or does he recover quite fast compared to commando Kano, or even SG Kotal and the rest of the command throw characters? I think they should all be the same across the board.

Ive noticed that about jason and yeah commando has potential as is, but it could use a few minor changes.

Quick question though, Who mains commando in this thread? Personally, I play him for fun. I do think he is strong though. I wanted to get more info on him as well as strategies and play styles from others.

Just make his command grabs work on block and hit, considering his lack of tick throws and garbage damage, this is the only grappler who wouldn't be OP from this.
Where is this character getting garbage damage? Ticks working on hit would be kinda broke and would have to be a universal change to all cmd grab characters. It was like that in the beta.

I meant midscreen damage, and yes, I know, it was like that in the beta.
Yeah midscreen dammy is hard to pull off. You have to get those IA NJP ex kanoball combos down and while it may be buns damage for a bar you need to use b131+3 or 32,1+3 and meterburn for midscreen punishes. It will teach your opponent not to play so risky. 34-35% for a bar is better then 22% meterless tbh.

that's the problem though, Commando needs meter for almost everything, he's even more meter hungry than CT imo since he doesn't get the same reward for making correct reads on EX moves.

Yeah I play commando weird. I usually do the meterless punishes and save meter for ticks or wus. His damage in the corner and off of AAs is stupid. 29-35% meterless, because you thought you could jump at me.

His corner damage is JUICY, not gonna lie, but I still feel like Commando's corner game is weak compared to the rest of MKXL.

Meh, I suppose my change would be a bit too radical. A couple of more ticks and maybe higher damage on choke would be nice.
tick being able to be used on f4 would be great, choke should recover a bit more faster, choke should connect on f33. That's really it for me. The character is still super solid.

Yes, the other grapplers recover faster than Kano, which is stupid, but Kano can grab a bit faster in certain situations. The problem is the other grapplers have standing strings that easily flow into tick throws and Commando Kano does not unless you juggle.

Fuck it. Give Commando MK9 Kano's air throw and make standing 4 a tick option and I'm happy.

idk, I kinda think command grabs on hit wouldn't be OP for this character since ex ball scales the way it does and say, 112 command throw would be around 25% meterless or so. That's about average damage across the board and typical for a supposed grappler to begin with. 22 might be 28-31% meterless though and around 40 with the bar. Yeh the more I think about this, the more I don't see a problem with it for this specific variation. SG kotal does around this type of damage and more even with all 3 stacks and a bar.
 
Curious. Does his B1 still tick throw? Everytime i try it seems to whiff like crazy :( blocking or not. Maybe i'm just bad, and that's very well the case, since I am pretty bad at tick throws in general.
