Is the DC Film Universe getting a bad rep?

Been lurking this thread for a minute and now I think it's time to give me insight on why I feel DC films are generally received poorly.

Between 2005 - 2012 we had The Dark Knight trilogy. The reception from critics and the public was pretty damn good. The critics praise its style of filming, pacing and well-written characters (for the most part) & DC Fanboys praise it for how close it stuck to the source. The trilogy has a whole received well over $2 Billions in profit.

With dollar signs beaming from WB eyes, they believe they can profit even more from doing a Cinematic Universe like are buddy Marvel did. The problem with that, is the style of filming they chose to do for the other DC movies.

With Christopher Nolan choosing a dark crime thiller as a way to show off Batman's world it was fairly easy. Is a normal human being with lots of money and power also a certain set of skills ;). And when it comes to most of his villains they can easily be portrayed in a realistic setting.

Now try to imply that same setting with other DC heroes like Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Cyborg. . . . do you see where I'm getting at?

It is almost impossible to portray these characters in a realistic setting without having something missing from there comic book counterpart.

I know there are many other reasons why DC films are failing, but I do feel like these two are what started it all off...
