What's new

[Sep 16, 2016] Civil War: Manifest Destiny (Cincinnati, OH)

Proud to announce the return of Civil War to the fighting game community. We're expanding westward! Proud to be able to work with Jesse Baker to host the tournament in an actual arcade! Other partners will be announced soon! To that end, the tournament is definitely going to have a lot of old school focus as we're running plenty of tournaments on actual arcade hardware and streaming the finals. This will be a 3 day event. However, we will be beginning the tournament at 6pm on Friday and ending the tournament at 6pm on Sunday. Check out the full event schedule, below the game list:

@tehdrewsus Thanks for the thread add.

@Treadmill The schedule is actually going to be really friendly to travelers and 1 day goers.
Friday is 6pm-close, mostly team tournaments, side tournaments, and a few arcade tournaments.
Sat is all day, main event games, with most of the old school games finishing Sat night.
Sun is 10am-6pm, finals, some side games

Every tourney I go to I HATE the decision to drive 6 hours at night or to miss the finals of the tourney.

One day friendly? I'm not being argumentative but if I do well enough I'll be playing minimum 2 or 3 days right? Mkx

There will be zero tourneys that span all 3 days.

Street Fighter V is the only game that's a lock to be 2 days (pools sat, semis/finals sun).

Most of the other games I will try to start/finish in one day. Need to start getting registration data before I can make a schedule, yada ya.

There are stream concerns and Sat night may be a late night, but whatever.

Ok cool. I'll keep an eye on the thread then. If it's a day then I can probably make it.

I am looking forward to learning more about the event in terms of scheduling so I know when to show up. Also, if I attend I could bring recording equipment for MKT again if you want.

Man... UMK3, N64 MKT, and SFA3 all being played competitively under one roof.... sounds like a dream come true to me. I probably can only stay for a day though if I can go at all and I really want to play all three of them. I can't play SFA3 on stick at all though, but I would learn it for this (stupid DP motions lol)

The schedule should be up by July 15.

We're trying to get some options for pad/other stick players on the cabs. Stay tuned.

Or, just play Chun-Li in A3. You can play A3 chun on a DDR pad.

Bruce Campbell 4 MK!!!
Just visited Arcade Legacy less than a week ago. Awesome place and awesome FGC from what I could tell, all in a very dead mall. Might attend this and compete in MKXL.

Yeah, it sucks but its 12 hours away from Cincy, and we'd rather go on that date than run 1 week from ECT or TFC.

Correct. As of now, the tournament will be run straight through on Saturday.
Is there a list of results from the tournaments? I see there's a handful on event hubs but not a full listing
