I like how people complain about Kotal's ji1, even after it got nerfed. Aim your pitchforks and torches at this woman's ridiculous ji1.

Only thing I can say about her divekick is that it needs A LOT more whiff recovery. It's stupid. It's fine on block as far as I'm concerned. I get to punish it unless I mess up.

I'd rather have a divekick with no pushback on block so that everyone can punish it and be safe on whiff.

Whiffing a divekick in front of the opponent and go for a 50/50 is hidden tech. :DOGE

But seriously, time and time again people complain about Sonya, Demolition specifically. Grenades, divekick, 50/50, d2, ji1, etc. Don't get me wrong, I agree 100% that she needs tweaking, but she doesn't need to have all of her tools removed from her. And the people who give the most outrageous nerf suggestions are those who play either a shit tier or a character that she bodies.

broke ass bitch lol but for real the instant recovery and psuedo safe divekick shouldn't be a thing she can do. and jip across the cast shouldn't jail. people have been saying this since the game came out but nrs don't give no fucks

lol, yep. They're more focused on nerfing/buffing characters/variations that don't even deserve/need it.

You forgot the part when you need to guess between her JI1 and divekick. You think that she will use her JI1, so you use your D2, and she uses her divekick.

Kang's BF2... I guessed right and blocked her divekick/arc kick in the ''right way'', cool, now let me punish her with 7% damage. And when my BF2 does not punish her and I'm in the Dualist or Flame Fist variation? She blocks my flying kick and punish me just because I tried to punish her -20 move.

And don't forget that not all characters in the game has a fast advacing move/special move.

That's part of the game, if she's jumping in you can anti air but if she divekicks then you can block and punish it or take a step back and whiff punish it if you're scared to try that.

Having the fast reversal is something you need to think about when pick your variation for the MU and is a pro to DF over the other two. And it's not always -20. It's variable.

I did it for Liu Kang, the character you were playing. I'm not labbing every character for a solution to the Sonya MU. I don't care that much lmao.

You gave me a solution in the Liu Kang matchup. lol. My video is not totally about the sonya vs kang matchup. I was pointing how stupid her JI1 is.

Yeah, you're right. But that pushback though... I blocked that shit but sometimes I cant punish it because of the pushback... better part is when I try to punish her but i cant punish because of her pushbacks, so she punishes me... :mad: it's stupid, man.

Again, I guessed right and blocked her divekick... it should not be that hard to punish her. :confused:

- Dive Kick no longer has any pushback for the opponent on block.
- Dive Kick on block now causes Sonya to land closer to the opponent.
God I wish ^^^^^

Done with MK1. Stop supporting a scam company
More recovery in dive kick. Against some characters the risk reward for using that move is skewed more in Sonya's favor.

AA'ing someone in training mode after the recorded bot whiffs a D1 into a jump your anticapating 100% in a game with neutral that Charlie Sheen in his glory days could barely keep up with is not a solution. The move is dumb because the window to react is smaller due the dumb ass hitbox. This is known as a top tier jump for a reason, I'm sure if I record a Sub crossup jump one I can AA it more times than getting hit but we know in game it doesn't work as smooth at that.

The divekick is an awkward one because although it can be unsafe spacing it correctly can make it safe. If you kept it safe and made it so she remained closer to her opponent rather than further away their would be a dumb guessing game after for characters with bad mids. I think the dumbest part about the divekick is the ability to jump back divekick, but you would have to change this across the board if you introduced this change.

If you have a good uppercut like Cage or Liu you can react to her jumping and anti air her every time. I know because I do it during my matches lol. Never said the move wasn't dumb at all, obviously it's hella oppressive but Liu has an easy time anti airing her JI1 because his uppercut is amazing.
