Why does Sonic Fox win everything?

Actually, I know why he's good. I know what it takes to be the best. It takes love for the game, practicing a lot, learning it in and out, and dedication to being the best. I guess the real question I'm trying to ask is where the hell is all the competition? Seriously. No one wants to be better? Where are the other top players? Have you guys not been watching videos and studying him? It's not like he has some incredibly secret knowledge of the game
that you don't have. It's frame data, spacing, and mind games. This guy has been on top since the game released and no one has learned how to beat him? Really??? You guys are slacking. Sonic Fox is amazing and deserves all the credit he ever gets, but a lot of the reason he's always been number 1 HAS to be because the other top players just aren't working hard enough. You guys need to get it together.

Sonic's had some very stiff competition at various points in MKX's lifetime. He's been toe to toe with or lost to DJT, Forever King, Scar, Foxy, etc.

But the best is the best. Sometimes you just have to let the kid be the best while he's got the chops to do it. See: Infiltration this year in SF5.

Why can't the answer just be Sonic is just better than everyone else.

That is what it seems like to me. He ran through everyone at MK9 (at the end of the game) Took a while for Injustice but reigned supreme in that game aswell. Also for MKX in Day -1 he was winning tournaments at the highest level.

So instead of saying that there is no competition how about we just say and acknowledge how good Sonic really is.

Sonicfox is the best NRS player. No question about it.

Yeah he is good. It appears that no amount of hardwork will beat him. I'm sure the other top players are doing the best they can to contest with him.

Maybe because Sonic is the GOAT? What do you think will happen for Injustice 2? Oh, that's right. He's gonna mop everyone for free in that game too.

Don't quite understand the logic here. What did I say to imply I had one? I, like the other top players of this game, am not working hard enough to get one.
Refer to my initial post. You have absolutely no idea how much time and effort these other players put into the game only to get smacked around by Fox.

Sometimes it just doesn't matter how much you practice, train, etc. You're. Going. To. Lose.

sonic fox has the clutch factor. He's not THAT MUCH BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE OMG he's just the most experienced and clearly the most confident.

Not to mention he's a genius when it comes to breaking characters. It's hard to be ready for him, he can pull out some weird shit you've never seen before in any match.

Have you ever watched young Sonicfox in Injustice. It's crazy to see how much he's grown as a player. Yolo batgirl teleports that would kill him every time he did it used to be his MO.

But I think the real question is, is this the time of the new kids or will the old guard make a come back in Injustice 2 or MKXL (possible) final patch.

Most experienced?

Out of the NRS top players he's among the most experienced in high pressure situations. He's gone to almost every major the past, what, 3 years or something crazy barely missing any?
Well idk about that. He's beating guys who've been competing in Fighting Games for about a decade.

I think there's something else going here too... Basically, SF is more efficient at training than most top players. It's primarily evident in that he's got more characters to use and he's really f'ing good at multiple games, but also when you see the guy interviewed or whatever it's like his brain is moving in multiple directions at once. Anyone remember that skype interview where the interviewer is like "Hold on, are you playing MKX right now??" And he responds, "Yeah I'm just working out something I was thinking about" or something like that? Seems to me that he's hard wired in a way that's really conducive to him understanding this--and other--game(s) more readily than most players.

That doesn't answer the fundamental question of why no one else has stepped up... because he's not an alien (till proven otherwise), but I suspect he's specifically better at training--whenever he's playing--than anyone else.

But there is a skill ceiling to be reached. There is a limit. The skill ceiling isn't limitless. After 2 years, the winner of the next tournament should be a toss up between a handful of players. It's perfectly acceptable for a community to have a player who goes on a win streak for a while. But number 1 for 2 years? That's kind of unacceptable. If I was a mkx top player gunning for number 1, I'd be mad and a little embarrassed. There really is no excuse for the winner of all your tournaments to be so predictable. It is definitely not just sonic fox being good. It's a combination of that and his weak competition.

If Sonic keeps raising the ceiling before the competition reaches where it was previously, it's going to be the same time and time again until that's no longer the case.

We don't know what the skill ceiling in this game is. Maybe Sonic is there and people are still lagging behind. Or, by the time they catch up, he's raised it again.

I said "Where's yours" not to say you had one. You're saying you're not working hard enough to get one. Okay fine. However to imply everyone else is basically just sleep at the wheel and MKX not being the prime focus of every players life, whether it be not having the time, resources (training partners), being a character loyalist w/e. SonicFox has mastered not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but at least half the cast in a tournament viable measure. Having a resourceful counterpick to every single contingency. Much like how Tekken Master does. Explains why the set was close. Not to mention there's been Majors/Events where Fox comes up short. However when you have all those back up characters & Alien in your holster, you're always have shooters advantage. That and Fox has been pretty much in the top Percentile of players in every game he's taken seriously up till now. Street Fighter V might as well be Renamed to "Infiltration's Yard: The Game".

Overwatch albeit not a fighter is being RAN by ENVY. For Female's MMA for a while it was Rousey. There's inevitably going to be someone who takes the sport/e-sport by storm and is going to have a firm grasp on it. Your initial post just came off as dismissive of EVERYONE else who plays the game's efforts up till now. Even those who can't afford to travel/showcase their skill. etc.

Or we've moved on to the next game.
