No news at EVO, but there IS MKXL news coming, says Boon

I dont want more unbalanced DLC characters with more horror guests. Just nerf the super top tiers and buff the rock bottom tiers and fix Quans sky drop and i'll be a happy camper.

Lewis Kang and Kitana made a lot of sense to the story at the end of the day and sets them up as integral to the plot of the next game. They are also stupidly popular characters that are iconic to the game. Not having Liu is like not having Ken in street fighter and Kitana / Chun Li. These characters have 24 years of history and have loyalists who will not buy the game without them in it (I would not buy SF if Chun Li or Sakura was not in it!). Unlike most of the rest of the cast, they have no new, related characters to replace them – if they did, they could probably get away with losing them out of the cast.

Where I do agree with you is that I thought risks could have been taken with the parents of the children – I think this was a missed opportunity. With the addition of Cassie, I thought it would be more effective to have either Sonya or Johnny dead and Jax as well (perhaps replaced by his wife or Jaquie’s twin or something). I was surprised to see all of these characters in. With Liu and Jin in the game, Lao is a pretty superfluous too – they could not even justify him being there in his ending and he seemed a little pointless.

They are very iconic, but if they did give them the boot for a game, I'd respect them so much. In my opinion, the only characters that MUST be present EVERY single game are Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and to a slightly lesser extent, Raiden.

In a perfect world, the top tiers will get nerfed fairly, the bottom tiers will be hella buffed (but not broken), other buffs/nerfs/fixes will be distributed accordingly to whoever needs it. In addition, we would receive SIX ACTUAL MK characters, who won't be broken asf. To top it off, a story mode add on, to continue from the end of the story. It would somehow encompass the KP3 characters and have Tanya/Rain (the actual Tanya lol) Outworld civil war issue. And something eles the Kombat Kids and Kitana/Kang/Netherrealm.

This man right here is correct. This forum has been non-stop bitching about characters from jump. Not for 1 second of this game's life has there ever been a moment where the community just accepted that just like literally every other fighting game ever, tiers are a thing.

If alien gets nerfed into the ground, people will just move their hate to another character, just as it went from Raiden, to Black (command grab is so broken only Fox ever did anything with him), to Lao (block strings so broken only Foxy ever did anything with him), to Kitana (damage so high on Fox ever did anything with her), to Tremor (otgs so gross only DJT ever did anythign with him), to Tanya, to Predator (only King ever won with since I'm pretty sure Fox switched to EB only time he used Predator late in tourney), to Mileena (only Foxy has ever won with), to Alien (who pretty much only Fox does any work with being as Dragon hasn't won much and King hasn't done much with it either).

This community will never be happy.

I doubt it's going to be balance changes, that doesn't seem like "big news" honestly and we all know we're getting more balance updates anyway, they've been asking us so it's kind of obvious. We'll see.

I just had flash backs to Batgirl in Injustice. Remember the hordes of people saying this exact thing about her? And then it turned into, "well, its just Sonic Fox." Then everyone realized that she was one of the most broken characters in the history of fighting games.

but the problem with that is that it WAS just sonic fox. like there wasnt even a second batgirl making waves out there. not one other batgirl in any top 8 .... kinda have to acknowledge that it WAS just sonic fox being the best.(along with using the second best character in the game)

If there isn't a kp3 i think the big news would be that the price we paid for MKXL also included a couple more new (characters, skins, final patch) and maybe even an arena to be released soon for all owners and that will be the final touch before they drop support and move on to injustice 2.

Exactly this... they can put whatever potbonus in whatever they want and new esl season would be nice, but this is surely not big news (except for Sonic Fox, so he knows that he gets salary another year by NRS-Tournaments)

MKXL isn't MKX Mobile. NRS doesn't refer to the mobile game as MKXL, as XL is just the console version.

My guess is that they will continue with ESL until Injustice 2...and that game will take over the ESL reigns. It seems like they have a nice relationship with ESL. no?
