So after seeing the two trailers, its looking like you activate your gear. It would certainly be easier to balance it if the gear is only active for a set time frame. Only time will tell, but I like the aesthetic look of the gear. We will see how it works out competitively though.

it still would be quite annoying to pick your gear from thousands of pieces before every tournament match. maybe they will have codes? i love the Feature but im really curious how this turns out.

The fact that they admit a level 50 can destroy a level 1 just confirms that the game is going to be trash tier online.

I wouldn't be so certain about the tournament mode, they're not going to spend all that time and money developing and marketing a feature and never have it showcased on tournaments and streams.

Also, it seems like items have rarity levels, which completely kills the idea of customizing your own character, everyone will want the best items, regardless of how ugly they look. The meta will set in a few days and its over as far as variety.

Boon just said live on IGN they will have some kind of tournament base mode without the gear interfering because they didn't wan't overleveled dudes taking precedent over skill level.

Thats pretty much our answer. We'll be tourney viable and Gear will not impact the base mode with constant loot randomness and level grind interference. I may as well close my thread now.
