Question - Cyrax NRS...why did you do this to Cyrax?

I've been a Cyrax main and loyalist since Mortal Kombat 3 over 20 years ago. When they announced he'd be in MKX I was ecstatic. When he came out I played him nonstop learning everything about him. I decided to learn not just his combos but his match ups and character specific tech, strategies and punishes. It was by far the most fun I have ever had with a fighting game. And then one day I wake up on 3/29 and ALL OF THAT IS GONE! They didn't just make him slower or less safe, they absolutely ruined him. Many of the nerfs were ok and even necessary but decreasing the net timer made it to where NONE of his old bnbs worked anymore. There was a thread of combos here on testyourmight.com that was dozens and dozens of pages long and now he can't do ANY of it. They may as well have removed him from the game. I can't imagine how @PND_Mustard must feel. I think it's very telling that we haven't heard anything from him since it happened. The hype for this game is gone, the addiction is slowly waning. It's a sad day to be a Mortal Kombat fan.

My intial knee jerk reaction was that cyrax was pretty much dead with those nerfs, im still trying to reteach myself not to try and net after bombs which i do on a consistent basis still but other then that i've adapted to the changes as depressing as they were.

can anyone tell me what part of this combo got its damage nerfed cause it used to do 40% now its 37%

Played bottom garbage character for 3 years and still did well. Cyrax still has high damage combos, still has funblockables, and is still a good character. Youre crying literally because you have to re-learn a bnb that takes 15 min in training mode. No pity.

he is not fine.
forget those corner setup. liu kang outzones him. he can zone and block bombs or net and u cant do anything, he can punish regular and ex teleport. also block ex db1 on time. just no options. he needs fixing

Cyrax got hit hard in patches but people are severely overestimating how bad he really is. He's still mid tier and is still viable. There's been like 5 of these threads and none of them have changed him back to his pre-patch state, so you might want to either work with the tools you have or find a different character.

The worst nerf imo was how long the Net holds now. If they revert that he'd still be good.

I can take all the other nerfs but hitting F13 net midscreen is nearly a just frame link to get your bnb out sometimes. It's fucking stupid.

I'll keep working at him though cause I love cyrax. But his nerfs definitely hurt badly.
