Cutthroat Truther
After two long sets with a GM sub zero, I have come to one conclusion. If I'm in the corner, I should do an Air ball and pray to the eyebrows that my box goes over. Neutral and zoning game is fine, but He makes it a point to corner me. He's thrown entire rounds just to do so, and I lose once I'm there. I promise that the next time I go against his sub, rather than one of his many other characters that give me fits(See: Ermac post up a ways) I can have a video showing exactly what goes down over the course of our sets.

I just ran a decent set with some some GMs as well. It's really not so bad, Corner is the only place he's a major major problem and even there you can EX ball to armor through the clone.

Yeah, try and stay as far away as possible, I try and stay out of slide distance if possible, but that's obviously really difficult, but just stagger knives, try and block slides and ice. I definitely still have trouble with SZ and his corner game IS insane of course since that's like the whole shit with the dude, but I just really make it a point to try and stay away unless I have an obvious opening.

when fighting scorpion, one factor to consider that'll make or break a match is the use of interactables. juatan jungle, dead woods, and lin kuei temple are ur best bets, as long as there are objects u can spring up to the air from it'll confuse and annoy the hell outa scorpion and u can bask in a moment of glory.
 
Is Cutthroat the better option against Scorpion? All three variations are highly mobile and inferno can zone effectively. Success seems to be dependent on getting in and scoring big damage. Cutthroat seems more suited to this.

I haven't played Hqt 3.14 recently, but I remember making zoning a bit tougher on predator by throwing the knives right after the projectile passed over me

works only as long as they dont discover hqt can fire low, and generally not in cyber i believe.

Cyber is the easiest to fight Cassie with at least in my opinion, you can zone her out pretty easily. You can EX Ball cancel in between B12*4 or after a B124 on block to check her if she pokes you after it for a full combo. If she jumps at you B1 is usually fine for anti-airing for me but if you're having trouble with her air attacks then you can trip guard pretty easily by walking back a bit then catching her as she lands. If she cancels moves into EX cartwheel on block that's actually good for you because it sends her back about half screen in which case you can go back to zoning as much as possible until she gets close enough that you have to worry about advancing moves and/or armour catching you. If there's anything else just ask, that's just how I play the matchup basically.

She has high priority over most Kano normals, I'm actually in the lab trying to learn this MU better now.

Her JIP is retarded good, so is her NJP. She controls the air. She has a really good run, so zoning her out is extremely problematic. Especially with the range of her JIP and B1.

When she gets in, she will dominate the true footsie MU. I think she has 5-6 frame D3, with good range, -3 on block. In my experience so far, this makes it very hard to react to her silly 50/50 game when players start with the D3 specifically.

I have BD out of it but then I get blown up by her B1 out of my BD.

Armor I haven't played with, against her up close game yet, although I am aware of some of her gap strings.

Her gun gives her a decent defense in forcing block and working her way in. It's very hard to zone out Cassie. Stupid hard actually.

This MU in general is ass for a lot of characters but its by far probably the worst MU I've had so far against good players.

I really don't have a solid answer other than Commando. Problem is I don't play Commando but I am learning it now specifically for this MU.

I figure the tick throws and parry tools would slow down most Cassie's. So, that's my plan until I find a solution with Cyber.

I don't see it happening though.

Really? Cassie is really not much of a problem for Cybernetic, Commando is probably good too.

Cassie is a rushdown character, and you want to keep her out therefore Cybernetic is a good choice. Normals aren't, or at least shouldn't be, a problem if you're approaching the matchup correctly.

Her jump attacks are good but not "retarded", she's no Scorpion/Kotal/etc. Hers should be trip guarded as much as possible more than anti-aired which really isn't hard if you're spacing yourself correctly. She should be jumping anyway since that's what you want her to do so you can trip guard her or anti-air her with knives for example. Zoning her is not extremely problematic, if you're zoning her correctly she shouldn't have much opportunity to run nor get in your face. Keep in mind Kano also has one of the best backdashes in the game so if you can't keep her out that's on you.

She does not "dominate" you in footsies, if she is poking you should be F4ing. F4 is designed for low crushing so pokes shouldn't be too much of a problem if you're playing footsies correctly. Your pokes also outrange hers I'm pretty sure so I don't see how this is much of a problem for him.

What?! Gun is not a problem whatsoever lmao. It's slower than knives are and take longer to recover, plus it's only +2 on hit. If you're getting hit by lots of knives there's something wrong. You should be so aggressive with knives that she doesn't have an opportunity to use gun.

Cassie is one of Cybernetics easier matchups, if you think it's horrible or one of his worst then sorry but you're approaching it wrong. GM Sub is harder than Cassie is and GM Sub is also one of his easier matchups.

Her d3 is 7 frames, but her D4 is 20. F4 is indeed a good tool against her, and commando runs into some issues because of how much cassies tend to low profile with their movement and attacks. 112 and choke tend to whiff in a lot of situations. Our local Cassie is one of our best players (wins almost every local). I do a lot better when I pick Cyber against him. I would agree Cyber is probably a little better of a MU, though idk if Commando struggles TOO much.

Everything he said was completely right except for the footsie game. Kano has good footies it's just that Cassie is the goddess of footsies. She doesn't have good zoning for a reason she would be broke af. That MU is simple zone that bitch the fuck out. 50/50s, vortex, best footsie tool in the game IMO. It really does not matter what MU Cassie is in. As soon as she lands a hit on u, u HAVE to guess. She does that to every character in the game. No way getting around. Ure eventually gonna get caught. You just have to get good at blockin and zone her becuz that's what u excel at in this MU. Any character good at zoning will give Cassie a hard time I don't see anything wrong with what youphenism said. Ik this MU so well. when I got the game I immediately picked up Kano. Played straight up commando and my friend mained and still does main Cassie. I have probably had 1000 games of MU experience with commando and Cassie. The thing I wish I had done was get better at cybernetic to excel more in the zoning battle against Cassie. But Cassie players like to use they're amazin normals to always be in advantage and that's where commando is really useful. U parry her, shutdown every wake up attempt and zone her out. I'm not sayin it's easy it's just thts what u do in the MU it's all 50/50s with her either guess right and win or guess wrong and end up in a selfie with her.

Cassie is retarded, and she does have better footsie tools than anyone not named D'Vorah, but other than that Youph was pretty dead on. I've been a huge proponent of buffing Kano but this is one MU he does well in. You can zone Cassie consistently and force her to take much more risk than usual, and then punish those risks with Kano's tools.

To be honest this is probably the MU he has the most success in out of the Top 10 characters.
